7. There is the point that al Awlaki was US born and a citizen
That would seem to count in some regards.
To wage war against Japan would be one thing. To intern Japanese-American citizens solely on the authority of a single person would seem to be another.
(I am old enough) the Japanese/Americans held in camps during WW2. Even at that young age I never really understood it. I suppose we will always be damned if we do and damned if we don't.
