Can Palin announce she is running for POTUS and run a campaign
Edited on Wed Sep-28-11 09:01 PM by chelsea0011
completely out side the mainstream. She skips all the debates and chooses all her interviews with only the Greta/Hannity crowd and just let the lovin' her media follow her around and report her every move 24/7. She would even skip some primary states that she has no chance of winning, Can she/or anyone for that matter win a primary doing this?

1. She would still need a party that would nominate her......
....as well as be on the ballot in all 50 states.

2. The M$M would report her every move, too.
Seems they're all obsessed with her.:puke:

3. It wouldn't work, but she might try. That woman is an idiot.

4. Palin is not running.
Palin never planned on running. She's dangling that carrot long enough to make as much money off of stupid people as she can before said stupid people finally figure out she's nothing but a grifter.

5. I'm sure she is just trying to gain as much money as she can from this.
My bet is that she has no intention of running.

6. Yes. The media adores her. She would suck all the oxygen out of the primary campaign and
the media would give her all of the time. The others would be bystanders. Bachman may rise in the pols as the media makes it a race between the two crazies. Two women running would be a great event for CNN and the rest of the entertainment-oriented "news" channels..

7. She could try that, but it probably wouldn't get her very far.
Remember that in '08 Rudy Giuliani was considered a front runner, so much so that he decided to skip the early primaries and caucuses, and concentrate on one of the later states (Florida, I think) but by the time he started campaigning, the voters really didn't campaign for him.

I'm also inclined to think that if she skipped all the debates, the most worshipful of her supporters would still swoon over her, but there are not enough of them for her to win the nomination.

8. She's already running a campaign, without having announced.

In that way, she can keep on getting news headlines, sucking the air out of other candidates' campaigns by showing up in the area at the same time and doing her own thing without having to do any of the "nitty-gritty" required for a campaign, while seemingly remaining above the fray.

In her mind, she'll be the "unity" candidate at the GOP convention. Never underestimate Sarah's supposedly God-driven self-image.

Will it work to capture the Republican nomination? For some, it will. Will they be enough? Never underestimate the power of denial, hypocrisy and arrogant self-deception. Unless something meaningful in the GOP political landscape changes, I believe that Romney is the likeliest of the current crop of candidates to pull off the GOP nomination.

But who knows what might happen if his selection does not please or appease the Palinistas.
