"Up with Chris Hayes"?
I just found out that's the name of his show. Is this a deliberate campy reference to "Up with People"?, or is that just in my twisted mind? ;-)

21. I know. What a shame I have to be there!
I don't know what to expect, really. I have deliberately NOT tried to find out stuff about those little towns I'll explore (where those Dutch artists lived and painted!) but I want to see the light there, esp. in Delft so I can understand Vermeer better.

Anyway, it's an exploration...who knows?

I'll have 2 afternoons in Amsterdam thankfully, since I want to go to the Rijksmuseum and also Rembrandt's house (and possibly Anne Frank's house).

28. Oh, thank YOU! Of course, I'd be honored and very pleased if you would send
whatever pics you can find! I'm just going over there with an open mind and an open heart...I know I'll be overwhelmed to see some of this art. The Night Watch and Girl with Pearl Earring are going to be Big Moments on this trip, but who knows what else I'll find...

30. Actually, this is a later trip. Mine is starting next week and is full so
obviously they're not showing it on the website. But it's the same itinerary (and half price! altho mine was at a cheaper rate by $100 than what they list here , so it was good that I jumped at it!). It was an offer I couldn't refuse, altho it means it'll be a long while before I get any new clothes!

32. KLM Friday the 7th, 6 pm from JFK. Returning on Oct. 15, KLM, arriving
at 1:30 pm. They just changed the barge on me...some problems with the Lena Marie so I gotta get the new emergency info contact...73 degrees in Amsterdam today (I hope it cools down by next week).

I'll be out of pocket while on the boat but will be in touch when I get back!

10. well ...what I heard/read was that Chris Hays (The Nation) was going to start at 7:00 a.m. on
the weekends and that this would give Liberals a voice over "Alex Twitt" and before "Dock Block" and the MSNBC litany of Crime Shows start all weekend.

So...I was pumped up. It was a first...and not so many people are up that early on weekend so it was probably a "stale biscuit or rancid dog bone" thrown by MSNBC to the Nation to get Hayes on there for "Balance." (Or feeble attempt at balance given MSNBC's history of ownership.)

Whatever...some of us are up early every day and on weekends and seek to find SOMETHING besides C-Span which is so colored by RW/RC Think Tanks and so STALE these days it's not worth watch for true Dems and Dem Activists.

So...yes...it's hopefully some kind of attempt by MSNBC...(now owned by Comcast with still some GE Control) to flesh out from CRIME WEEKEND.

6. I watched the "Kick Off" this weekend. I think it has much room to "grow"
It seemed off kilter..teetering.

All new shows have to work out the bugs but this kick off was distressing for someone who was really enthused about not having a "balance" to Alex "Twit" (as I call her)...her name is Alex Witt or Whit whose the RW person they put on MSNBC over the weeked for their Politics Fix before the Dock Block and Crime stuff runs for the rest of the weekend.

Chris was probably a nervous wreck with so much riding on him having a "liberal show" on before "Alex Twitt" that he was getting miscues or bad cues from the Producer who run these shows and want Liberals to fail...so I'll give him credit...but he needs to get his "body movements" under control...and "ground himself."

Just my observation...for what it's worth..and sorry...it does sound "cranky" because I had such high expectations..that probably could not be met for a "first off" new show.

13. Chris and his body movements have been a distraction for more than a year now.
Ever since he first started guest hosting. I complained about it then, and now I just don't watch him. They either need to train it out of him, or use a tight camera angle. I just can't take the jitters.

11. BTW..."Up with Chris Hayes" must be a play on Comcast/GE/MSNBC's Mantra of "Lean Forward"
Sadly I'd rather watch "Up with CENK" than "Up with Chris"....in a sexual conotation... But, why anyone would pick a name like that for a show for a progressive from "The Nation Magazine/Foundation" is just beyond me.....:-(
