Gov. Scott Walker says he first learned that his spokesman had an immunity deal in an ongoing John Doe investigation when it became public late last week.

"I know that throughout my career - first in the Legislature, then as county executive and now for the last 10 months as governor - I live by the standards I got from my parents," said Walker, whose father was a Baptist minister. "Certainly, they got me to the rank of Eagle Scout, and I continue to have that kind of integrity."

A 17-year-old Eagle Scout was charged with attempted murder after stabbing his father during a family argument last night, county police said.

Police said Allen Shank was charged as an adult after officers found his injured father lying in the front yard of their Pasadena home at 8:30 p.m.

Police said the 50-year-old man and his son got into a heated argument and the son grabbed a knife and stabbed his father.
