Wall St. Protesters Show the Way: Congratulations to the “Occupy Wall Street” protesters!

They’ve got the right target, that’s for sure. It’s the banks on Wall Street that brought our entire economy down, and they haven’t had to pay a nickel for it. Nor have their executives been charged with any crime, much less gone to jail.

I also admire the tactics and the courage of these protesters. They’ve been demonstrating in the streets, which is where we need to be. And they’ve stood up to disgusting police brutality and have broadcast it, via YouTube, to the whole world. It’s truer now than ever that “the whole world is watching,” as some of the protesters chanted, though the corporate media ignored it.

People can only take so much. And this rising up, tardy as it is, is a welcome sight.

6. How?
I see the protesters and admire their idealism. I don't see "regime change" whatever that means. I do see a heightened awareness emerging from the protests, though

7. It's got to start somewhere/somehow
How did it happen in Egypt?

BTW, I don't mean the US gov't but rather the forces that are currently controlling it. That would be my personal wish anyway.

Maybe the protesters will take over a couple tv stations like they just did in Greece?

It's kind of funny how people applaud protests in other countries but dismiss them when they happen here.

I will tell you one thing - there are more people in Liberty Park today than there were a few days ago.

8. Welcome to DU. I hope this really does start a new perspective being created.
I wonder what issues they discuss together and how they organize events they produce. Do they have a list of issues they want addressed? I understand there is the Bankers have been criminals, but are they calling out specific banks and crimes? I understand many people thought the banks getting "Bailed out" would mean folks could refinance and not loose their homes.

(It's time to but the tomatoes in Jars. I'll close.)
