Christie is full of shit (but we know hat) he's running for President what a phony
even though he doesn't want to get up at 6 in the morning and shake hands with meat packers in Iowa, he isn't raising bucketfuls of money for his NJ re-election campaign. He has the power brokers BEGGING him to run because the Pukes have such lame assholes running (Huntsman is the only one with cred but power Pukes want assholes and bullies, not reasonable people in office).

2. If Christie runs it'll be 2016. His election win in 2009 isn't that impressive
Edited on Tue Sep-27-11 08:56 AM by LynneSin
Because honestly, Christie wouldn't even win his home state in 2012.

Remember, Christie won in an election that was very off-season (held in 2009), which had much lower turn out than the 2008 president election. To give you an idea of the voter turnout. Christie won his election in 2009 with 1,174,445 votes. John McCain LOST New Jersey in 2008 with 1,613,207 (Obama had 2,215,422). Obama also got 57% and won by 16 points in New Jersey whereas Christie won with 48.5% of the votes with a 3.6% win over Corzine.

Think about this - Obama got over a million more votes in New Jersey than Christie. Now, with a 2nd term election and Obama's performance I'm sure there will be some voter erosion but I highly doubt it will be enough for Christie to overcome Obama.

Just so you know in 2006, for the NJ senate race - Robert Menendez defeated Tom Kean Jr. with 1,200,843 or 53.3% of the vote (almost 10 points over the loser). It looks like less people came out to vote that year but Menendez still had more votes than Christie and won by a much larger margin.

3. Just the thought of him shaking hands with meat packers is absurd enough
Middle America doesn't like bullies, but no matter the election statistics previously, the Republicans think he's their saviour. When all you've got is shit, fungus looks good.

4. I'll tell you this much - you couldn't PAY me to live in Iowa
Dont' get me wrong, it's a lovely state and I even know people who live there. But every 4 years to deal with this bullshit for 6-9 months would drive me bonkers.

5. Heah, he's running imo
he'll do what everyone wanted Jeb Bush to do. Let the others kill each other off and come in and save the day.

Everyone knows the country wouldn't stand for another Bush so why not the next best thing.

7. He sure is getting a lot of air time for a "non-candidate"
I wonder if his theme of "I'm not running" will carry him all the way to the White House.

9. he won't be
able to handle the stresses of running for high office like the Presidency. He should run, just so everyone else beside NJ can see what an ass he is.

11. Christie may be palatable in the east but his arrogance will not play
well in Peoria. I'm from Jersey, born and raised so I get his "comebacks" and smart ass responses. It would never survive elsewhere. He's a buffoon and will be lucky to get re-elected in Jersey. He's the kind of guy you either love or hate. Should be interesting.
