2. The crucial question is: what percentage of wealthy campaign donors support taxing the rich?
Those are the statistics that will matter to our legislators..

4. Only what rich people want matters. If they decide to share, we'll get the tax.
Edited on Mon Sep-26-11 08:02 PM by valerief
I don't see that happening. The most important thing in the world is to make rich people richer. It drives EVERYTHING.

11. Kock Bros & Dick Armey are the Tea Party.
Everyone seems to believe the myth that these people are grass roots organizers...the people you see are mere props and extras. The money is the party. So, their billions equal all the votes of 99% of the populace.

15. This is "hard" because on the higher levels we aren't a democracy
We are an oligarchy ruled by the Upper One Percent.

The Democrats represent me very well on the local level.

But the higher up the chain, the less the people's dreams are acknowledged.

Just last week, over in Europe, Geithner said it once again (paraphrasing) "I don't answer to Obama. I don't work for Obama."

And he's right. The man in the oval Office is nothing more than a PR man for Big Industry, although he certainly delivers progressive-style speeches.

It's just he is not able to defy his employers and actually fulfill those messages.
