There are so many GOOD cops, I hate when these types are allowed to stay on the force.

and probably a desk jockey when he isn't assaulting women.

But yeah, he's got to go.

2. I have seen many
of the photos and one video of this but can't understand why he maced them. They didn't appear physically challenging - just verbally so. They were staying behind the orange mesh - it makes no sense to me. I hope that someone got his badge number.

3. Supposedly they were fenced away from police arresting someone in the middle of the street
and were taking video and photos. The two supervisors (white shirts responsible) took offense at such freedom and let loose.

7. Plenty of NYPD are acting professional.
But this pattern of superior officers doing the bad acts is disturbing. Is it because of a tacit or explicit understanding from upper brass?

We should try to get Olberman's producers, or somebody, to look at this. And of course, this particlar captain or lieutenant or whatever should be invetigated.

22. On videos like this, critical of the police, I would not be surprised if
some of them are plsnts. You can bet the police are checking on those videos and anything that makes the police look bad or on political videos tends to get the most vile comments. UTube is littered with such comments about every ethnic group regardless, and every nationality. They all sound the same, just change the country or ethnicity. So I think most people ignore them and focus on people they know who are legitimate on UTube. Actually the person who uploads the video can block people, but a lot of people just throw something up and don't bother to monitor the comments.

It's a free for all really so you do get to see the best and the worst of society. And the good thing is given the freedom to say anything there, it's encouraging that a majority of the people are pretty decent.

16. No doubt- that "officer" had to get to his local porn rental shop
and rent some "violence against women" videos to complete his day.
Hs attack was deliberate, unprovoked and hopefully, worthy of a lawsuit
by his victims.
He is no better than a common rapist and shows the same anger
for women- they were women and it is clear he targeted them.
Just like a rapist.
I hope they send him to prison.

Will certainly end up as evidence in court.
It shows so clearly that this "man" committed a crime, while in the uniform of a

In fact, he was so intent on inflicting unreasonable "punishment"
on these young women, he did not care that he maced his fellow officers.
Lock him up and throw away the key!

No, not teeny print on the badge itself that requires you to go within baton/mace range to read them.

Big numbers. That can be read from a hundred yards away.

27. White Shirts and Black Hearts
I've observed elsewhere that much of the police violence I've seen has been instigated by the white shirted policemen, who I am told are supervisory personnel.

This leads to the inevitable question: is this a deliberate policy, acknowledged or unacknowledged, of the NYPD we are seeing acted out? Or the random barbarity of a few individuals who "coincidentally" all happen to be supervisors?

29. He actually did a sweep of macing to everyone they penned up in there.
They are all on the ground in the video. What looks like what happened in the video was that they couldnt quite pen them, the fence was getting bent by the protesters and the police were trying to move it. So jackass walks up and sprays them ALL in the face until they are on the ground and walks away. Its fucked up beyond belief. But the NYPD released a statement supporting his action, probably for the reason that people who are in tears on the ground are easier to pen like fucking animals.

43. Another possible motive would be that
...cops were beating a girl and one of the other girls screamed for them to stop and Captain Anthony V. Bologna pepper-sprayed the latter girl and the girls nearby to shut her up.

===
...this young girl near me was shoved down -- their hands were on her head until she reached the pavement (she was yelling because the cops were beating up some 19-year-old kid). I screamed something like, "Stop! Why are you doing this?" There was blood and shit; it was terrifying. I looked at the cop I'd been talking to, and he had a blank but worried expression. Then this cop in a white collared shirt came around and just sprayed us...

30. saw this on msnbc just now
First mention I've seen of this in the MSM. Boy they are going all out to stifle this story, it's gotten worse since comcast took over msnbc, now there are a lot of subtle differences, such as giving rethugs lots more face and mouthtime on the air, and a negative spin on Obama constantly, wondering if anyone else has noticed. The scenes in NYC were heartrending, and a cause for the heroes of 911 to hang their head in shame. Don't they realize these protestors are fighting the same people who would let 911 first responders die by denying their medical claims? This is horrible, brings back very bad memories of the vietnam era.
