Sarah Im-Palin', the mean girl who owns Wasilla, AK - McGinniss
Edited on Sun Sep-25-11 08:22 PM by sfpcjock
That was quite a picture of her on Book TV where they go more in depth than the MSM:

1. Sarah has everyone in the little town in fear of her and her stand in, unloved husband, Todd.

2. Wasilla is a fast-growing little bedroom community of Anchorage full of Sarah's favorite big-box stores, and 600 dominionist (the most extreme), evangelical strip-mall churches. OMG!

We should be glad she is not VP and probably not running for anything else.

Sadly, McGinness is being skewered by MSM in interviews that simply focus on the Palin meme about him moving next door--somehow equated to stalking.

So many here are fed up with discussing Palin, that I haven't posted a thread, but I think this book transcends her. It shows how very at risk we are from the RETHUGS putting (another) horrific idiot, narcissist, sociopath into the WH and this time one with no "filter" whatsoever to prevent her waging the worst kind of revenge driven policies or movement towards Dominionism.

I just saw a posting from McGinniss that states Keith Olbermann has cancelled his scheduled appearance and Rachel Maddow has refused to book him at all.

2. Agreed ....
... I am about 1/3 of the way through it and it paints a very interesting picture of Mrs. Palin and her town. This is the story that the MSM does not want to address.

3. Every thing Levi said is true. And "gossip" does not equate with UNtruth.
Kitty KELLEY was lambasted for her Nancy RAYGUN book. Everything was true then and it's true NOW!1

It's short: only about 20 minutes. You can skip the beginning where he talks about the house he rents. Suffice it to say he gets it by serendipity on the day before he plans to rent an apartment in Anchorage instead.

(Book TV now hides the latest links on their separate www.c-spanvideo.org site.)

6. I don't trust Joe McGinniss.
Because he very well might have sent an innocent man to jail.

In 1979 he became a writer-in-residence at the L.A. Herald Examiner. Next came the McGinniss trilogy of true crime books, Fatal Vision, Blind Faith and Cruel Doubt. All three books were made into TV miniseries. His 1983 account of the Jeffrey MacDonald murder case, Fatal Vision, was a best-seller. MacDonald sued McGinniss in 1984, alleging that McGinniss pretended to believe MacDonald innocent after he came to the conclusion that MacDonald was guilty, in order to continue MacDonald's cooperation with him. After a six-week civil trial that resulted in a hung jury, McGinniss's publisher's insurance company chose to settle out of court with MacDonald for an undisclosed amount. Given the victims' rights laws in force, however, the convicted murderer received no actual money. In her book The Journalist and the Murderer, Janet Malcolm used the McGinniss-MacDonald trial to explore the problematic relationship between journalists and their subjects.

10. I have gone back & forth on MacDonald for years...
Regardless of where I stood on the innocent/guilt equation at a given point in time, I could understand why an author--any author-- would not feel bound to write a "positive" book from the standpoint of the accused, if they them self had become convinced of guilt. I would think poorly of an author who did. Could McGinniss have been more upfront with MacDonald regarding his intent to write the book that "revealed" itself to him? Perhaps. But, MacDonald was not some naive' 18 year old on trial for murder. He was then (and I believe now) a very intelligent and accomplished individual. I suspect (again, whether innocent or guilty) that MacDonald was convinced he could manipulate MacDonald. Sadly for him, he could not.

8. I believe the Dominionists to be incredibly dangerous. They must be kept away from nuclear weapons.
When Palin was asked in the vice presidential debate what she thought about using nuclear weapons, she paused, became reflective and looked like she was having an orgasm. Wish I had that video.
