The Media Will Not Cover the Wall Street Protest? Take the Protest to the Media!!
In Egypt, protesters surrounded the media stations until they were force to report the truth.

If you are at the protest in NYC, here is a map

For everyone else….
Here is a list of phone numbers and emails. you can call to demand they cover the real news.

You can visit your local TV station with signs and pictures…make them see(and cover) the protest whether they want to or not!

And last but not least…a request from the protesters….SEND FOOD!

1. Probably the corporations that own the
media told them they couldn't cover it.

2. In the MASSIVE protests pre the Iraq invasion
Hundreds of thousands of people shouted up at their windows, to no avail.

3. The protest needs to be moved to DC
And then when the most corrupt of the Wall Streeters show up at the White House for Obama's economic advisers meetings they'll have to pass through it.

Then they might get some attention.

6. I don't agree, Wall St is the center of Financial World and they
were right to focus on it, imo. But there is a big demonstration planned for DC, similar to this one in that they are planning to occupy also, and these protesters are joining with the other group on Oct.6th. So DC is covered, by a different group! :-)

10. On 6th October
the permanent occupation of DC square shall begin. It's not about moving out from NYC or elsewhere, it's about spreading to every city.

5. I think they probably will. When the groups are formed
to handle different issues, don't know if they have a media group yet, they definitely should focus on exposing the corporate ownership of the media. That has been the biggest weapon in the hands of the Corporations who are currently so powerful in our government. I hope they will organize protests outside each of them and make signs listing their corporate owners. Also targeting the worst 'journalists' who consistently spout the propaganda they are asked to do.

We won't have a democracy until we have real, investigative journalism that is not owned by Global Corporations.

I am so glad they are planning on being there for months, or as long it takes, because it provides time to do so many things.

Don't know if the media has been added to the list of goals but they are taking suggestions.

Thanks for the link to send food. Can't send actual food, but can order a pizza from Liberatos Pizza, who is making 'Occu Pies' for them.

7. Rec'd to zero?
Wish people would say what it is they disagree with rather than silently unrec. Why would anyone object to Americans trying to establish a real News Media in this country? Guess I'm just curious.

8. Maybe the protest is directed at the wrong place. Maybe it should be the media.
It actually makes more sense.

11. It is directed at all the institutions that have destroyed
Edited on Sun Sep-25-11 02:54 PM by sabrina 1
the democratic process. To focus on only one, would be a mistake. What they are doing is remarkable if you read the basis for this whole idea. And the media I'm sure, will be one of the institutions they will focus on, as it is badly in need of reform along with the entire system we are currently existing under.

It is the money from Wall St. that supports all the anti-consitution entities, think tanks, political pacs, the media, lobbyists etc., that made it possible to bring this country to the point it's at.

Taking the money out of it all, is the best way to 'cut off the head of the snake' and that is what this protest is about.
