Video Captures Ugly Moment at Protest - So Surprised to see this on AOL top stories.
I'm at work right now. I have a big event and I have to go in 2 seconds. But I did make my usual internet stops when I turned on my computer this morning and was totally surprised to see this as the first story on the AOL news feed.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/09/24/occupy-wall-street-protes_n_979367.html?icid=maing-grid7|main5|dl1|sec1_lnk1|98743

Maybe we will start to see more coverage.

I'll be down there next week.

1. I am surprised at their resiliency
and for that they should be commended (protesters).

2. I too was surprised to see it on AOL.
Most of the time there is a certain slant to their coverage.

3. Seems To Me That Most Of The Media Is Avoiding Coverage Of OWS To Frustrate The Protesters Into....
violent protests to get attention. Then in the minds of the MSM this story will be worth covering. It's really sad when our media lines up against the plight of the common person.

5. the right companis about media coverage
the left complains about media coverage..
seems to me if both extremes are complaining about biased coverage then the coverage is pretyt much in the middle.. RIGHT WHERE IT SHOULD BE

10. not neccicarily...
if you've got two people, one who likes their food very spicy, and one without any spiciness, they'll both complain if their food tastes like crap.

The problem is that the media is biased towards sensationalism and lazy reporting. Tons of reading press releases verbatim, mashing events into pre-scripted narratives, and reporting on public polling instead of discussions about the facts behind the issues or any acutal investigative journalism.

11. So wrong so so wrong. The deregulation of our media has led to a few mega-corporations in control
Edited on Sun Sep-25-11 11:05 AM by Exultant Democracy
that is the problem. Nothing about today's media is right where is should be.

Also even in a health media environment the news coverage should be split right down the middle. If one side says Obama is a Muslim from Kenya and the other says he is not and you report it right down the middle then the news is failing to point out the facts which is their job.

6. BREAKING NEWS!
We, the American MSM, interrupt this corporate unfriendly thread to bring you the following BREAKING NEWS of historical significance. Four Teabaggers have met up at a Tallahassee, FL 7-11 for Slurpees for, what FOX News is now calling a "million-man, take back America rally". We will be devoting all our resources to the coverage of this event as it unfolds.

We will be returning you to your "communist propaganda" if an when our corporate overlords deem it to be relevant. Thank you.
