3. Rove ordered Perry to suck in the debates?
Or Rove ordered the media to report the fact that Perry sucked in the debates?

11. Rove used his mind control to make Perry stumble at the debate.
He's omnipotent don't you know.

4. I think it's beautiful, like synchronized figure skating, how they all travel as a pack.
And they're so pretty, these dumb parrots & popinjays whose job it is to inform the nation about its political leaders.

5. Let's just say "someone " has decided he won't do
Don't need a tinfoil hat for that. If you just watch what the media does, well you can see plain as day who it is "they" have decided will have the power.

Now that is saying something, considering they thought coke-addled Dubya was prime presidential material.

10. Those will have to be some pretty wild pictures to fell a R candidate
Multiple whatever doing multiple whatever and him in the middle of it all. I mean if Vitter is still viable, it would have to be something pretty out there to bring any of them down.

I read your subject line and started thinking of Vitter. Not the place to speculate what would count as the upper end of the bar of outrageousness but, yeah, multiples and squares of exotic strange things might make it;)

8. I wonder if Rove sent the down order or if Perry's downfall is his own doing.
Either way, Rove is gloating along with the Bush empire.

26. It's his response to the in-state tuition for illegal immigrants question
He didn't merely list the compassionate reasons he is for this, he could have eloquently gone into many, even though they wouldn't have convinced a crowd that had elements that would boo a gay soldier. He actually said that anyone who opposed his policy "didn't have a heart."

Now, we all know the Repukes are pretty much heartless, but they sure don't cozy up to someone who points it out to them. That's why he's Texas Toast. The stumbling and bumbling during the debates sealed the deal, and his Gardasil crony capitalism first put GOP'ers on guard about this guy.

15. Rotating frontrunners protects Romney from criticism
Palin catches heat makes way for
Bachman makes way for
Perry makes way for
????
The frontrunner gets the spotlight and the eventual teardown.
The purpose is to keep Romney fresh for the GE

16. Sep 27 2007 GOP Debate, for comparison...
That is the date closest to this last debate. Who was in it? Sam Brownback, Mike Huckabee, Alan Keyes, Ron Paul, Duncan Hunter, and Tom Tancredo.
Not present were the current 'front runners': Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Mitt Romney, and Fred Thompson.
The next one was Oct 9. The highly anticipated debut of Fred Thompson, DU's favorite to 'stroll into the nomination because the media likes him'. Thompson, you may recall, was putting out little web ads, and trying to be 'off beat'. Thompson is the same Fred Thompson who now does reverse mortgage commercials.
Just for some perspective. Today's 'favorite' is tomorrow's low end commercial pitchman.....

20. doubt it has much to do with dollars in media
simple
keep one or two false targets around, get the enemy to fire on them, waste the best 'rounds' and then toss away the wasters

cannonfodder is all
if they can turn a buck on it too..so much the better
but it's probably more tactics to burn out 'artillery'

21. They sell out for this shot
and get it from that bought them. But a lot of them are two stupid to know no one expects or will allow them to go all the way. Liberals get no such permission to try- usually. Sane people rarely try, looking at the stacked deck and the hostile dealer. There is a noise game going on to distract and keep excited the GOP and the public at large. First come the clowns, then the acts, the guys selling over-priced peanuts.

Because the guilty GOP has nothing to offer and needs to escape accountability, extinction, the positing of a sane agenda, an independent competent leader. Etc.

Perry, at odds with the Bush dynasty. Squeeze the use out of his noise.Into the toaster.
