to talk about his book The Black Banners, fyi.

If you miss it, it will likely be put up on their site in the next week or so.

4. Ali Soufan and Richard Clarke helped me understand
some very basic facts about how 9/11 went forward when at least two of its perps could have been picked up.

The CIA had photographs of the two hijackers in San Diego. They didn't show them to Soufan until after 9/11 although he was in Yemen and working with Al Qaida informers.

Clarke speculates that it's because Cofer Black was determined to get someone inside AQ and he was trying to get these two. If he notified the FBI of their presence, FBI would take over their cases, and CIA would "lose" them.

For all we heard about "the wall" between FBI and CIA after September 11 that supposedly prevented them from sharing information before 9/11, that seems to have been a self-serving exaggeration. CIA did share information with the FBI after 9/11 and before the law was changed.

10. I thought FBI colleen rowley and some of her colleagues
had a heads up about some of the terrorists involved? Was told to pass the info to her higher ups. Apparently, they did nothing.

11. I don't think it was on the two in San Diego.
But I remember she did try to communicate with Mueller.

6. He wasn't listed on the schedule
so it was an accident that I caught this. Gene Robinson will be up later and some other folks but the book festival listing doesn't seem to be in order or complete. Bad Peter. :spank:
