Revolution is off the table
Slowly slipping into the corporate medias speculation is the question of how to control the future rioting of the mounting throngs of unemployed and hopelessly disillusioned. Barely a mention of why there is this sorry reality of high unemployment; I mean the real reason. Since the corporate media represents corporations, who are protected by their employees (Congress), we hear about the evils of Unions, over regulation, and over taxation. Off shoring and tax havens and capital gains and stock options are verboten subjects.

They are setting up the unemployed to be the enemies of the state. Yes, teachers, firefighters, plumbers, and cabinet makers will soon be the equivalent of the Taliban. Call out the National Guard.

I see a future where we will be forced into the very worst option to fight the overloads. Revolution. Why on earth would they choose to give up the power they've stolen?

1. when more thought is being given to how to control the unemployed than how to EMPLOY the unemployed,
then we will have reached a dangerous stage.......... we're not there yet.

but it's getting closer.

2. Like the Iraq war
reality, history and predictability are ignored. The common welfare has never been an option.

Those are the crazies with the guns.

Don't EVER make the mistake of thinking that TRUE leftists are pacifists. We believe in self defense, personally and for our class.

What about the blue states?

Here is what Gallup says.

Republicans are much more likely than Democrats to report having a gun in their home. A majority of Republicans (55%) say they have a gun in their home, compared with 32% of Democrats.

Republicans also are more likely than independents or Democrats to say they personally own a gun. About 4 in 10 Republicans (41%) say they own a gun, while 27% of independents and 23% of Democrats say this.

Almost 2 to 1

19. And there's more Dems than Reps......
The numbers will probably, roughly, even out. Also, notice I did say "leftists" not liberals.

Although, I would suggest that even the "liberals" get on the bandwagon and buy and learn to use a gun or two. Nothing discourages a fat fascist from shooting first like the likelihood that somebody will shoot back. Most of them are bullies, hence cowards at heart.

7. It usually comes down to whether
the soldiers will fire on the people. If they don't, they become the interim government. But with Blackwater, they'll fire with glee. Bonuses for scalps.

14. Then it becomes a question of whether
the military sides with the people or not. They would be the counterbalance to Blackwater. Remember that the grunts, even in the all volunteer military, are working class.

9. Our neighbors to the South have given us a Blue Print for "Change".
"The worst enemy of humanity is U.S. capitalism. That is what provokes uprisings like our own, a rebellion against a system, against a neoliberal model, which is the representation of a savage capitalism. If the entire world doesn't acknowledge this reality, that nation states are not providing even minimally for health, education and nourishment, then each day the most fundamental human rights are being violated."
----Bolivian Reform President Evo Morales

FDR said much the same thing in 1944 with his Economic Bill of Rights.
Unfortunately, FDR and THAT Democratic Party are long dead.

The Populist Reforms sweeping across Latin America are nothing less than (near) Bloodless Revolutions.
They have given us the Blue Print,
all we need is the WILL to use it.

They DID have one advantage that we don't have in the US.
They have a Fair, Transparent, Verifiable, Internationally monitored and certified Elections.
We wil have to fix THAT first,
and neither dominant Political Party is remotely interested in giving that to us.

VIVA Democracy!
I pray we get some here soon.

You will know them by their WORKS,
not by their excuses.

Solidarity!

12. "...the evils of Unions, over regulation, and over taxation."
Edited on Sat Sep-24-11 11:42 AM by Cool Logic
Unions are not evil and we are not over-taxed; however, I defy anyone to justify a 71,684 page tax code and 134,723 pages of fedregs.

In truth, our economy has become a closed-market, as a result of being overly-regulated by the powerful interests represented by K-Street. Consumers do not get to choose the best products. Instead, they get to choose from products that are produced by companies with the best lobbyists. Or, as is the case with products like ethanol and weapons-of-war, we don't even have a choice; we are forced to buy their products.

The costs associated with their red tape--$1.75 trillion/yr by most estimates, is choking us to death. Well, not all of us. For the ones who write the rules get to sell us stuff we don't need and force us to pay them to regulate us.

22. I go to the Omaha District USACE site last night to get some river data
for Monday morning and the following is what I see:

http://www.nwo.usace.army.mil/

Now, I can see a reason to have a system for Army personnel to report suspicious activity, but isn't that the chain of command? I mean, a web form with an INGSOC-like graphic on the front page of the Corp site?

Clicking on it takes one to the following:

Suspicious Activity Reporting

I have information that may be important to the security of the U.S. Army, Army facilities, or personnel. I wish to be contacted by Army Counterintelligence.
NOTE: The Following information will be sent directly and only to Army Counterintelligence. It will not be reported to your Chain of Command or place of employment. You will be contacted within 72 hours. If this is an emergency or you feel there is need for an immediate response to prevent an incident, then please contact the nearest Law Enforcement Agency or dial 911 where available. If you wish to remain anonymous, within the United States you can also report information by calling the Counterintelligence Hotline at: 1-800-CALL SPY or 1-800-225-5779

How and What to Report

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When you are interviewed by Army Counterintelligence, give as many details as you can. Here is a checklist to help.

Size: Number and detailed description of people and vehicles. Identifying information such as unique distinguishing characteristics and license plates are important.

Activity: What are the People/Vehicles doing? What is suspicious? Provide as many details as possible.

Location: Location(s) of people, vehicles, or activities. Include direction of travel and names of roads(if known).

Unit: What unit they belong to, any markings, or insignias? Other identifying information on clothing or person such as brands, names, pictures, numbers or tattoos.

Time: Time and date you observed the behavior. Include timeline of activities during observation. How long did you observe in total? Note time of any significant events or changes during observation.

Equipment: Describe with as much detail as possible any equipment observed; such as cameras, writing/sketching instruments, tools, communications equipment, computer equipment, or weapons present.
