How can I make it better?

Hello DU.
The political scene has gotten me bummed out lately. I am involved in my local lame ass dem party and I work in human services helping mentally ill people.
I am involved with my family, I have friends, and am working to improve my life and the lives of others.
Yet, I cant shake this sense of dread.
How do you improve your mental outlook? How do you soldier on when the political scene just depresses the hell out of you?

2. I have some of it figured out

sleep
exercise
try to eat better
join groups / on line forums that are of interest to me
write letters / stay in touch with supports (co-workers, friends, family)
pray
read / listen to music / watch enjoyable tv or movies
do good work

I pray to God that someone on DU can turn me on to something motivational.. Something I have been missing..

for theirs is the kingdom " hopes of a better place.Now whats that got to do with Fundies that propel ignorance ,steal from the weak ,persecute people who are gay and justify war? 6. I do because I don't think it's so bad.

People soldiered on when Emmett Till was slaughtered.

When those little girls were blown to pieces in Birmingham.

When those 3 naive young men in a station wagon had their bodies dumped in a ditch.

We continue on because:

7. I have to say you already are doing so much.... The dread is waking up to the fact

that many more will have to wake up and demand an end to election fraud... Please don't give up...

8. Many people feel helpless these days -

For me it helped to find a group of folks on the net who think the way I do. If you find that you agree with a lot of folks on this site it might just help to decompress by hanging out in the lounge a little more - there are some great folks back there. For me it's on another website with folks that are further left. I do some commenting here, but that's where I feel most comfortable.

Realize you don't have to do everything yourself, many of us are working towards the same goals. It's going to take a group effort to push back against capital (the owners), not one of us can do it by ourselves.
