Warren on Class Warfare: "you moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for..."
I just want to thank Rush Limbaugh to playing this yesterday.

I haven't heard anything so passionate and powerful in a long time.

"I hear all this, you know, 'Well, this is class warfare, this is whatever,' "

"No. There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody."

"You built a factory out there? Good for you,"

"But I want to be clear: you moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for; you hired workers the rest of us paid to educate; you were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for."

"You didn't have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory, and hire someone to protect against this, because of the work the rest of us did."

"Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea?"

"God bless. Keep a big hunk of it."

"But part of the underlying social contract is you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along."

2. Yep, and the people cleaned up after those messes, and let you continue to profit.
She needs to become president in 2016.

4. AND, don't forget the judicial system they use/abuse.
They use our courts to fight their corporate battles, beat the little guys, deny claims, escape legal responsibility, etc.

They use the courts to stall cases and appeal rulings if they didn't get the outcome they desired.

I didn't hear her mention this specifically in the short clip I saw, but I think it's worth considering and weighing in the conversation.

The clip is in political videos: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=385&topic_id=618134&mesg_id=618134

Go Elizabeth!

Most gazillionaires inherit it

14. Don't know her position, but inheritance is fine, lets just be sure that new wealth is...
...fairly acquired, that the payers of taxes that make the roads, pay for the teachers and cops, etc., to make this new wealth possible, are allowed to share the profit.

13. And the public schools provided
you with an educated work force.

She's absolutely right and she articulates it so well. No wonder the right is having such a hissy fit over her. Corporations rely so much on the public sector and it's time someone laid it all out in clear and easily understandable terms.
