I caught a couple of minutes of 'Good Morning America' when walking out the door
And was reminded that if Troy Davis ever got one tenth of the media defense (and absolute presumption of innocence) that Amada Knox has been getting, he would have been a free man years ago...

Just sayin':argh:

1. I notice it's the same woman whose in Perugia covering this story.
Who wouldn't want to be in a neat town in Umbria, where the food is awesome and the old, hilltop city is beautiful (you have to take escalators from the streets to the modern Perugia below).

Of course, your larger point is SO true. It is a shameful mark on our media that Troy Davis did not get the media attention he should have had. I did notice that Al sharpton has given coverage on his show and it has been very good. But woefully short of what the media COULD have done. And shame on them...

2. If Troy Davis got one-hundredth of coverage as that of the latest blonde
missing in Aruba (Robyn Gardner) . . .

3. That has been amazing, considering there is nothing to cover.
I just started flipping ABC on in the morning between 7-8am a few weeks ago. I can't believe all the coverage devoted to that story, which really doesn't deserve to be national news. And I'm looking at George Stephanopoulous thinking, you idiot. You once worked in the White House, and now this is where your career is.

4. I think he's sad looking too. I'm sure he is making lots of money but
I get the feeling that he knows he's "sold out."

But it is rare that I watch GMA any more. I see who is in the day's line-up on Morning Joe and I tune in the good guys and mute or just turn off the set on the others...

5. They have been updating the story on a regular basis with a legal analyst
What pisses me off more than the coverage is the ABSOLUTE assumption that Knox is innocent, and there's never any "Yeah, but..." to challenge it...

The other unchallenged talking points:
1. The Italian legal system is slow moving, inept and corrupt
2. They needed an easy suspect to railroad in kangaroo court
3. There is no evidence of her involvement whatsoever in the murder
4. It's only a matter of time before she is released
