Is electing the perfect president the answer to everything?
Can one person fix it all? Are we forever doomed to waiting for superman or superwoman to arrive on the scene and put it all in order? 2012? 2016? 2020? 2024?

People are saying things about Warren now that we said about Obama a few years ago.

Is electing the perfect president the only way to solve our problems? It better not be, because I don't think its ever going to happen...

1. Nope.
You need a Congress and Judiciary to match.

2. Has anyone ever even said such an asinine thing? Doubt it.

3. False premise, there are no perfect humans and if there were any I doubt
electoral politics would be their bag.

A really good President that puts the "small people" first would be a powerful asset just as a corporate President is tremendous flaw and triple that for a corporate Democrat that most think of as at least liberal and in some quarters a Marxist.

Neoliberal policy being conflated with liberal is deadly to any traction for good policy and as a consequence the nation.

4. Until we focus on the House and Senate, no real change for
Democrats.

We have a Presidency(I am referring to the office
of Presidency) that is relatively weak.

Having two parties (Conservadems and Liberals) is
a constant problem. Conservadems undercut and
undermine our President. They did this to Clinton
too.

One President cannot do things alone.

GWB had the advantage of having Congress(Denate
and House) who were willing to make their party
look strong so they pushed his policies through.
If he had a divided Party things would have been
different.

Just tonight there was a report there are Legislators
(Democrats) who do not want to be on the ticket
with Obama. Frankly, I would like to get my hands
on these jokers. How does that sound to the Public.

7. One step deeper than that...
It's not House and Senate, it's rampant corruption and vote fraud. And while I agree that retughs are most guilty, there are plenty of dems with dirty hands. We need to fix (as in un-break, not control) elections. We need to get big money out of politics.

Those are primary, and until both are accomplished, everything keeps getting worse, no matter who is in office. (But make no mistake, I am voting for Obama and a true-blue slate in my state).

5. No. But electing a bad president can be the end of all hope.
So it does make sense to look around for a good one.

6. Social change is the only real progress, and it is very slow.

8. I lay the blame on the Blue Dogs and DLCers that keep watering down good legislation.
And the Republicans for simply trying to block everything or filibuster it to death. Very little progressive legislation can pass through them like this.
