Holy god. Finally somebody said it out loud. Ms. Warren for President
http://www.thestreet.com/story/11256619/1/why-you-should-listen-to-warren-not-buffett.html

"There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody.

You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear: you moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for; you hired workers the rest of us paid to educate; you were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn't have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory, and hire someone to protect against this, because of the work the rest of us did.

Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea? God bless. Keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along."

1. She forgot something
WE, the poor and middle class, BUY your goods and services, even if you are RICH. Without US, you would lose YOUR job.

2. They seem to be a little short sighted on a few important points.
If there is no demand because they refuse to pay living wage or support actual health care reform and people don't have disposable income.... how, exactly, are they going to make money?

They are willfully winding us down.

The jobs aren't coming back until American wages are about $5 an hour with no benefits.

20. Jobs
End unfair trade, dump the WTO, and bring back the Truman- Ike tarrifs and tax code. Then watch as jobs start coming back to the US.

29. I had the same thought. It's the laborers & consumers whom the owners cannot live without.

Atlas Shrugged had it exactly backwards.

Warren knows that. Just didn't get to it in this particular, beautiful rant.

35. How far we have come that our LABOR is not the main point
You can't make a paper clip without labor.

The unwritten contract between business and labor was broken long ago. We have allowed business to blackmail us (with the help of our politicians) by the threat that they will move to the next county, the next state, the next country. Immigration rates were supposed to be set according labor needs but those standards are ignored and unions are being destroyed faster than the polar bear.

30. You know, I've been saying that for years
and I never hear anyone in the MSM bring it up. It is a relationship and THEY need us. There is no logic in corporate logic, just short-terms profits.

Ms. Clark's campaign called the other night, when my computer was still dead, and I'll make another small contribution to her, too, and Bernie Sanders of course.

Ms. Warren speaks so eloquently while being forceful for working class Americans. :bounce:

9. The Senate is too incremental a step for the caliber of her leadership ...
...and the dire straits we're in now.

We need her to mount a '12 Democratic primary challenge.

On the timeline of our country's existence as we have known it, I am afraid that 2016 will be far too late to postpone hope that Elizabeth Warren considers running for the presidency... 4 more long years into a very unstable future.

We really have no time to waste.

We have not seen in a potential political figure, the type of integrity Ms. Warren possesses, in a very, very long time.

14. A woman of integrity that is not only concerned about corporations, far superior to the middle right
"leaders" we have now absurdly claiming to believe in the Democratic platform.

If there is a serious effort to draft her I would be on board to not only draft her but work for a campaign again.

If we refuse to follow The Third Way, all the fragile gains will be lost! We must continue on this course of caving, compromising, and capitulation or the terrorists will win!

Fuck that.

Warren 2012.

in life and perhaps reflect on how they treat others. I totally believe in "paying it forward" in life. It not only feels good to me, but it helps others to feel good as well.

38. WOW. I would love that... but don't really think that's a possibility.
All the money and all the power would be stacked against her. Even half the poor and middle class have been stupified enough to believe libruls want to take their guns and raise their taxes and kill unborn babies.

The President of this country will, and has been for a VERY long time, be in the pocket of big business.

Welcome to plutocracy.
