1. Behind the facade and baiting for a scapegoat
them business folks sure love their cheap, easily manipulated and exploited labor, above all else. That's our future if the profit motive continues to be the number one agenda and purpose of life.

We are seeing the ugly side of what the propaganda does not reveal. Just how ugly, miserable and intolerable it will become is only a matter of how long and fully we will accede to the vision and direction of the deadbeat rich. It is possible to draw a line that can be lived by and sustained. It just depends on what each of us realizes to be at stake.

4. you are absolutely correct.
i have seen the beneficiaries of this wonderful treatment by Texas employers upon their employees- in terms of illness and injuries. These employers could care less who they destroy in the process of making a buck. They have no desire to put a damper on immigration- it helps them keep wages and benefits low here.

5. A word of warning. The study was done by the Center for Immigration Studies - a hate group per SPLC.
"The Southern Poverty Law Center's report reads:

FAIR, CIS and NumbersUSA are all part of a network of restrictionist organizations conceived and created by John Tanton, the “puppeteer” of the nativist movement and a man with deep racist roots...CIS was conceived by Tanton and began life as a program of FAIR. CIS presents itself as a scholarly think tank that produces serious immigration studies meant to serve “the broad national interest.” But the reality is that CIS has never found any aspect of immigration that it liked, and it has frequently manipulated data to achieve the results it seeks."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Center_for_Immigration_Studies#Southern_Poverty_Law_Center

Not surprisingly the conclusion of this report is: These numbers raise the question of whether it makes sense to continue the current high level of legal immigration and also whether to continue to tolerate illegal immigration which is the conclusion of every CIS study.

The information presented by the CIS MAY be true, but they'll throw any number out there to make their immigration reductionist case. I would look for verification from more progressive or, at least, neutral organizations.

6. Thanks for that additional information.
I'll be watching for progressive comments on this.

Perhaps the CIS wants to see Perry brought down because of his immigration stance which some of his business supporters in Texas like because it brings them cheap labor.
