Brown vetoes pot shop bill
Reporting from Sacramento -- Gov. Jerry Brown on Wednesday vetoed a bill that would have barred medical marijuana dispensaries within 600 feet of homes, saying it stepped on the powers of cities and counties that already have authority to regulate pot shops.

This was a small victory for the Patients...
It would have opened the flood gates for Local Governments to expand their muscle and completely ban Cannabis all together..
Most but not all County and Cities have taken any stand that would give them the legal power to eradicate all Cannabis from their areas...
This is completely opposite of the spirit of the States Laws...

2. I'm betting he's going to veto it....
Just my gut feeling. I certainly hope I'm wrong.

3. Hooray for Jerry! This is the first good news in a long time!
Rather than criticize Brown for what he hasn't done or might not do, I'm happy to salute him for what he DID do -- prevent the drug warriors from further expanding their power to intrude into our lives. Gov. Brown was shrewd enough to foresee how easily local governments could use this absurd 'law' to completely eliminate dispensaries in every town, regardless of what the state law is, or what the people want. This is finally a step in the right direction.
