Rand study finds less crime near pot dispensaries
More than half a dozen have opened in my City since the first of this year..
Crimes involving them is non existent....
In fact.. Violante crime has taken a recent drop too...

Medical marijuana dispensaries — with storerooms of high-priced weed, registers brimming with cash and some clientele more interested in getting high than getting well — are often seen as magnets for crime, a perception deepened by a few high-profile murders.

But a report from the Rand Corp. reaches a startling conclusion: The opposite appears to be true.

1. I talk to the owner of the dispensary I use.
She told me they've seen this in Colorado. Dispensary & warehouse regulations are incredible. They have to have cameras inside & outside & some of the cameras have to be infared. I believe in some areas they have to have listening devices as well. She told me of a story where the police caught someone who was breaking into residential homes, by viewing the video of a local dispenary.

5. Unfortunately the opposite is true for some of the harder drugs.
Theres a growing heroin problem in Madison and most of the property crime and muggings are related to it.

6. Oxycontin
heroin use is up all over the U.S. ...
Its because its so much cheaper and available...
Heroin is the drug of choice as it has the same effects as Oxycontin..
So Patient who are now addicted to Oxy and having difficulty getting the drug are now hitting the streets...
Heroin can be even cheaper to buy than Oxy by proscription..
