An Equitable Tax System
Here are some enlightened words from another forum I post on.
I don't normally refer to other forums but in this case I found a gem to share:

Posted response to RW'ers on a thread I started.

Money is a flow through the system, not a constant. It's not a pile you empty and one end and accumulate at the other, then go looking for more, like it was coal converted to ash.

Rather it's a circular flow, just like an organic circle-of-life system. Taxation is diverting part of that flow into government services and then that money goes back INTO the flow, as government purchases from the same corporations, as military salaries spent on rent, cars, food, college, as police, fire and court salaries.

I hate when right-wingers talk about economics and speak with authority when they don't understand SHIT about the system they live in.

There is no such thing as a tax-free system. The object is to create an EQUITABLE tax system, rather than a dis-equitable one.
There is no such thing as a government-free system. Because even in the smallest, most primitive village there are the elders and the priests running things and deciding things.

Peaceful anarchy is a pipe dream. It cannot exist, as much Ayn Rand tried to create it in Galt's Gulch. People disagree, and most try to get something for nothing. Homer in The Odyssey has Odysseus and his men casually sacking towns, killing all the men, raping all the women and taking them as slaves.

Nowadays, we have the something -for - nothings pretending they are for free trade, every man for himself, blah, blah, blah while they try to get the government to let them pollute their neighbor's air, water, and land, and get paid for doing it!

All bullshit.
