Scalia would, with his own hands, nail Jesus to a cross. He's not interested in actual innocence.

Perhaps the Democratic Party should organize not only to win another term for President Obama, but also to raise funds for the Innocence Project.

http://www.innocenceproject.org/

The questions we need to ask are:
"If not us, who? If not now, when?"

The future is unknown. Many dream of making a million dollars per year in the future, and keeping it all. Others live with the nightmare of being guilty of no crime and waiting to be executed. While keeping some people safe from crime, the system itself commits crimes.

You could choose a life of poverty and pay less in taxes to support the system, but that's not necessary. It's enough to help make the system less criminal.

The difficult work of establishing the Innocence Project has been done. It is operating now. Why not support it? The life you save could be your own.

1. A Christian would respond that last night, Scalia strapped the Christ
to a gurney and injected him with poison.

4. Not to defend him, but Scalia is only one of five.
As I've said once already:
Troy Davis died, because the alternative could possibly have forced an open investigation of police and prosecutorial misconduct. And the likely reversal of many other convictions, including many that were legitimate. Plus more likely complications with executions already carried out. The lineup of cans of worms is endless.

Sadly, true justice would come at the expense of loss of faith in the system amongst the majority, wilst only restoring it for the currently legitimately disaffected. Better all round to keep pissing off a handful of "ineffectual, laughable bleeding heart liberals". And keep the ignorant masses properly focused on the brownskinned "criminal classes".

3. No he wouldn't.
That would be work. He would order someone else to do it.

6. I'd wager that the monster...
favors the assassination work of sicarii to actual executioners. Romanticizes it even.

7. I don't know...
I can see Scalia sitting at a table eating tons of fancy foods (letting Thomas eat some) as his little helpers go about torturing those he doesn't like. If he is feeling generous, he might even let Thomas go hands on in some of it.

8. I don't support some of the work they are doing
I believe in the convicted staying convicted if they really committed a crime. I believe that if a person is truly innocent they should be freed. I do not believe in twisting the facts on a technicality or 'smoke and mirrors' defense strategy. I just cannot put my arms around someone who has brutally murdered just because there is a technicality with the evidence or a witnesses testimony or an error in court procedure. That's what the Innocence Project is about, trying to find fault in convictions. They are not always to find justice. That's why I have a problem with their work.
