Amy Goodman is a national treasure.
She always gets to the story behind the story. . Always delving into the really important news you can't get anywhere else.

She kept us apprised every step of this grueling, gruesome day. I feel like she held my hand through it all. She must go home and pass out.

I just want to thank her so much. Gotta renew my subscription to Democracy Now!

1. she's brutally honest but does it with such grace
You have to be a strong person to listen to her. I'm not. But i admire her immensely.

33. I'm unsure if "brutal" is correct. I find her intelligent
As a matter of fact, she delivers like Cronkite did, where words are measured out and easy to digest. A real pro.

Maybe so many are used to CNN, etc???

34. i meant it as a compliment.
Brutally honest in the sense that she doesn't sugar coat anything. She just tells it as it is, but delivers it with such professionalism and authority. She's a treasure.

10. She has something better. Many many markets and freedom to report.

But I KNOW she would suggest a donation to Pacifica in her honor.

8. The country would be a better one if Amy Goodman were on major channels.
If when people turned on their tv's they saw Amy Goodman, Noam Chomsky, and many others, the nation would be served. Instead, you know what we've got. Something you don't want to step in, let alone allow directly into your living room.

I feel this is part of what Troy's legacy will require of us. The reversing of many years of apathy and greed.

11. I have so much love and admiration for her. She is incredible.
A true journalist. I was switching between MSNBC and the live stream on democracynow tonight, and MSNBC doesn't even compare. Amy Goodman stood there for 6 hours, dedicated to getting to the heart of the story, both the facts and the human element of it. It's in circumstances like this when you can really appreciate why it is so important to have independent media, and journalists like Amy Goodman.

13. Amy is the best.
but she did fall for Moyer's stuff, lol.

"BILL MOYERS: Well, I almost didn’t come back to PBS. I really wanted to be a correspondent on the Daily Show, but I wasn’t funny enough, so I had Stewart come over. You know, he and I have been back and forth below. Jon Stewart is part of the new media.

AMY GOODMAN: Were you really going to be a correspondent?

BILL MOYERS: No. You’ve been in journalism too long if you start believing things like that, Amy. No, no, I’m just teasing."

30. Comcast gives us Current. DN is available only on the Bridges channel, airing a day late.
Channel #687.

Bridges made the news a few months back when the owner killed his wife in a particularly bloody slaughter.

According to the list at the DN website, the only Michigan cable carrying DN live is on a community access channel somewhere near Grand Rapids.

Listened to her for years on KPFA/Pacifica Radio. She taught me so much. She is too in depth and analytical for mainstream media.
