Best Buy ads from 1996

It’s only been 15 years since this Best Buy circular came out, but in tech years, it’s been a millenium.

1. My very first computer was a 1994 Packard Bell.

It had a Pentium processor, 8mb of RAM and an 800mb hard drive. It was a top of the line computer for the time! :rofl:

4. In support services, we called them "Packaged Hell"

Some were good, but configuration and support was a brutal.

7. We had ours for 5 years and it died on us twice and my parents had to take it in.

Oh I thought it was magnificent at the time until it died right at 5 years. Made me so mad. It actually cost us about $300 = money that was hard to come buy. The rest was paid for by Ford instead of giving the guys profit sharing. They knew workers would need to be computer literate in short order and decided every worker should have a computer. They had all sorts of computer classes right at the plant.

2. One thing hasn't changed - Apple Computers are way too expensive.

10. Funny thing is,

That Apple computer I bought in 1994, a Power Mac 6100 and it's still running. I hop on it now and again to play some old games you can't find anywhere else.

Same with the 1984 Mac 128 I have as well.

And the Mac that I'm using right now, eMac from 2003. God, I love saving money when I don't have to purchase a new POS PC every three years.

My first computer was 7.16 MHz. 166 MHz was a dream at the time!

Madden '97. I sure wish they still made that for MACs. I hate playing it on game systems.
