Why does Fox News hate Windows 8?
http://www.windows8update.com/2011/09/21/why-does-fox-news-hate-windows-8/

Obviously, it’s my job to stay on top of this new Operating System and as a reporter, I consume huge amounts of Windows 8 news every day.

A couple of weeks ago, I came across this article from Fox News with the sensational title “EXCLUSIVE: Corp. America to Microsoft: We’ll Pass on Windows 8″.

Now, I could go into detail about how badly it was written, how misleading it was, how wrong it was but I won’t.

I won’t because anyone in tech who reads that article will instantly recognize all those things.

1. Because framing a story the way they want to is more important than reporting the facts?
Doesn't surprise me that the Fox News mentality would permeate all aspects of their reporting.

Seriously, Win8 has been out for 2 weeks to the devapp community...how would anyone in corporate America have any clue about this product now? In fact, Win8 will be introducing some new built in capabilities that will reset/refresh the user's OS without going through a wipe and reload routine....sounds like the IT guys will like this feature. There are some concerns about usability of existing hardware with Win8, but I suspect that drivers for most equipment will be ready by the time the software is actually introduced.

8. The headline is a little short...
Corp. America to Microsoft: We'll Pass on Windows 8 Because We're Broke.

In this economy, the only reason a corporation is going to buy this OS is if they buy a new computer with Windows 8 preinstalled. How many shops do you know that are still running XP and never even tried Vista or Win 7?

9. Phuck Phox. Win8 is designed to integrate PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones seamlessy...
or at least as seamlessly as Microsoft can get it to.

Basic stuff like email, facebook, Twitter and trading ct videos are more and more being done on phones and tablets, so the Lego interface is geared to that. But, when you're doing real work on a desktop you can turn of the cuteness and get back to a familiar screen.

Myself, I'm still using XP on the aging desktop, but have Vista on the work laptop and Win 7 on the new personal laptop. Vista's OK for what it does on the work machine, but 64 bit Win7 on my laptop kicks ass.
