Are any national media covering the travesty in Georgia tonight?
Rev Al is going live when they return from break, but no word if CNN is going to cut into John King or MSNBC is going to preempt the Tweety rerun.

Anyone know?

1. Actually Tweety said that he would be live @ 7:00! I presume he will be
covering whatever happens.

15. He can't cover whatever happens because he's not there.
Edited on Wed Sep-21-11 08:10 PM by EFerrari
Amy is there on the ground, talking to the family, to the NAACP, to Amnesty's Larry Cox, to the lawyers and other supporters. Tweety is not a reporter, he's a talking head with a monitor in a studio.

4. It was next to impossible to get interest in Troy Davis on DU.
He's of almost no interest to most people. I'm deeply disappointed in America and Americans. It's laziness that has helped us fall apart.

Troy isn't being covered because he is meaningless to the media.

But in 15 minutes, when he is gone, we will still not know who murdered the police officer. It's judicial insanity.

5. Everyone I know has been watching and supporting Davis for several weeks.
I have signed petitions, as have many others. What more could we have done? They aren't listening to anyone.

I haven't posted my thoughts, as I'm so disgusted about the whole tragic case.

11. There doesn't seem to be anything we could do.
Rev. Sharpton was just expressing the same concern. So many people, including those advocating the death penalty are now crying out for justice in this case.

Regardless of how it goes... it might have an effect, why some pro DP people are going OH SHIT.

14. I read that earlier. My sentiments exactly.
I'm so glad to see the great number of people who really get this. I think the mainstream media magnifies and amplifies the bizarre. It's refreshing to see groups in Germany, France, and America, who all care.

23. I sure hope so. I'm looking and waiting for a pivotal moment in America.
Some respect for civility and caring, instead of defensiveness and punishment. I'm not holding my breath. We're a long ways from being Norway.

24. Sadly I do not expect the US to become Norway
a successor state or two, maybe, but the US... no... not in the national DNA.

12. Interesting hearing that the Supreme Court only needs 4 votes. Not 5.
Edited on Wed Sep-21-11 07:44 PM by Gregorian
Maybe Clarence Thomas will be a deciding vote, if they do review the case.

At least I think they meant the US Supreme Court.

Evidently it was 4 for review, and now they will make a decision. Which requires 5. I think...

10. This has nothing to do with color
and everything to do with GA making a Texas-sized mockery of our judicial system.
