"Is it socialism?" "Is this class warfare?"
Those, and similar questions are asked rhetorically so often that we ask them almost automatically.

Well, how about this as an answer:

It doesn't matter! Is the policy right or wrong? What do the labels matter except to those bent on not discussing policy and giving it a fair hearing?

1. It damned sure isn't socialism -
although I hope to live to the day it does arrive. What we have here is worldwide capitalism destroying everything except those at the very top - just as it is designed to do.

And we have Mr. Obama deciding to try to get some crumbs for us (election coming up and all).

The only question to be asked is: Which side are you on?

Labels don't help the discussion at all.

(Definitely NOT sarcasm)

3. Fair taxation is neither socialism or class warfare on the fortunate.
Fair taxation with people that can paying their fair share is simply what is right.

4. So many people in this country don't know about the constitutional democracies in Europe
that have a socialist economic system. They think that socialism and totalitarianism are the same thing.

They don't know about France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and all of the Scandinavian countries where there is a very high standard of living (particularly for women), a thriving entrepreneurial movement, and extremely high worker productivity. Germany is the second highest exporter of goods after China.

People here don't know about all of this. They believe the drivel about "socialsim". It's stupid and wrong headed...and very bad for our country...

5. I'm pretty sure it's not class warfare either...
I don't see any rich assholes up on a guillotine platform with the masses cheering and throwing cabbage. Yet.

6. It's BEEN class warfare since the first Great Depression
And we're the victims.

Hopefully, hopefully, the American people have finally figured that out.

7. Well, since the means of production remains in private hands, it's not socialism.
On the other hand, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to demonize people for simply being successful. Moreover, the demons who constitute the top 1% are still only 1%--not a large enough tax demographic to effect the economy.
