I don't know about that Levi Johnston book ad . . .

If the guy wants to tell his story, that's fine by me. And I know the advertising is the publisher's responsibility, so I don't hold him responsible for that. But a few things about it bother me.

First, I find the use of the crosshairs a cheap attempt to capitalize on the controversy that erupted after the Giffords shooting. Whatever your opinion on Palin's role/responsibility, I find the attempt to use it to sell a book like this tasteless.

Second, the expression on his face is what I imagine a 12 year old boy looks like when watching a movie with nudity in it. It's kind of odd.

Third, they describe him as 'Bristol Palin's baby daddy.' While that may be technically accurate you'd think they could come up with something a little better to describe him. I don't know what's in the book, but I doubt his intention is to perpetuate his status as the butt of jokes. Of course, I could be wrong there (there is some money to be made that way).

Maybe it's a riveting read (I doubt it), but the publisher seems be taking the lowest road possible to sell it.

Gryphen at www.immoralminority.com apparently tried to review it--said it was as horrendously written as you might imagine, and Levi apparently continues to obfuscate... Sounds to me like he might have been bought off? Who knows. But, yeah, the cover alone would keep me clear. It is really ridiculously amateur. Too bad, too... I had sympathy for Levi and his entire family. It appears he has really squandered his opportunities.
