Petition email to reconsider - Execution of Troy Davis
Edited on Tue Sep-20-11 05:08 PM by RKP5637
Forwarded - Letter from: Ana Zamora, "Death Penalty Focus"

"I write today with devastating news. Even though thousands of activists signed a petition to save Troy Davis from execution, the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles denied clemency today for Troy Davis, and his execution is scheduled for this Wednesday, September 21. This terrible decision to deny clemency for Mr. Davis is a poignant reminder of why we must end the death penalty in the United States and the rest of the world.

Please e-mail the Georgia parole board and Chatham County District Attorney Larry Chisolm and ask them to reconsider their decision. (Letter is at the bottom of this web page.)

Time is running out. There are only 24 hours left to stop the execution and we must act now. Please urge them to reconsider.

Thank you for all of your efforts in this campaign.

In solidarity,

Ana Zamora

1. All your emails won't stop this. The blood lust will be quenched.
Please stop telling people that emails and petitions are a substitute for action.

It's too late for Davis now, but next time, go in person to the prisons and the courts and scream and shout that they stop allowing the states to murder its' citizens.

8. Emails and petitions may not stop the execution but it's better than nothing
Everyone needs to do whatever they can, emails are a start.

I've been making phone calls too...I know it's not the same as storming the courthouse or state capitol building, but it's what I am able to do right now.

10. Yes screaming radicals always trump the organized masses.
I'm being sarcastic.
