12. Saturday streaming showed them writing that number on their arms
So I think there's no problem on that end.

The real question for me is if the cops can just close this down or if reinforcements will show up to take their places.

15. Good question. It really all depends on the moral of the protesters.
I wish I was there, or there was at least a satellite protest in my town, that's one bad thing about living in TN, the only rallies we get are the damn Teabaggers. I hope everyone is okay, this does worry me, though. If they are making arrest so soon, I'm worried they might resort to violence, not lethal of course, but tear gas is still bad. I hope I'm just being paranoid. I also want to know what laws were broken. The 1st amendment grants us the right to petition our government, and Wall Street really should have noticed that fine print when they bought said government.

I think I am going to scrape up what change I can and send it off to that Lawyers Guild who says that will represent these people.

4. I hope your kids are okay. This really angers me to hear this though.
I expected the police would do something like this if the protesters stayed during the business days, but it still makes me mad to hear. I'd get in touch with the ACLU or the National Lawyer's Guild, they do a lot of pro-labor work and would likely be happy to help out in this situation.

10. Seriously. If this was a teabagger rally, you'd have every media outlet there.
Of course, there wouldn't be any arrests made either.

20. Even if this one doesn't achieve much, it may well be the start of something bigger.
A lot of graduating college students can't find work and that is always soil for unrest. Hell, I would be surprised if I manage to find a job soon after I graduate, and you would think journalism would be a fairly safe field, of course I want to do more commentary so that might make things a bit harder.

35. After a look at the newspaper, my spouse was saying that things are gearing up for
Occupying the Financial District in San Francisco.

So it is spreading, and with unemployment being what it is, and more and more people realizing that the rethuggery of the financial sector has enchained and enslaved us, and that even worse is to come, The Movement shall continue to spread.

21. The best way to help them is to offer them a ride to Washington DC.
For that would put them in the proximity of the the actual problem.

22. Wall Street is the problem.
Wall Street owns the government. The problem is capital, not the government, which has became nothing more than an arm of capital.

27. Actually, a bevy of special interests controls the fedgov from offices located on K-Street, in DC.
You make the mistake of blaming Capitalism for our problems, when in fact it is the anti-Capitalist policies that our Representatives have allowed the K-Street boys and girls to implement, that is the real problem.

And then there are the costs associated with the § & ¶ of K-Street regulations--$1.75 trillion/yr by most estimates. The US is the world's leading producer of red tape and it is choking us to death.

32. Let's start with incandescent light bulb regulations...

which cost 200 working people to lose their jobs. Not to mention my right to pursue the happiness that a dimly lit, romantic ambiance brings to me and my wife. (Dimming CFLs buzz, flicker and lack the dimming range of incandescent bulbs.)

The last major GE factory making ordinary incandescent light bulbs in the United States is closing this month, marking a small, sad exit for a product and company that can trace their roots to Thomas Alva Edison's innovations in the 1870s.
