If Israel abandoned Hebrew as an official language and replaced it with Spanish ...
then would there be a major increase in efforts to crack down on undocumented workers, and deport them along with their born-in-the-USA children?

9. Interesting, hadn't heard of it being spoken there
I wonder if it survived in some communities there because of the alpine isolation?

13. Each of those valleys is very distinct, Latin and Rhaetian mixed Ladino, German, Venetian....
The Wiki article makes itself makes no note of it, but this is a separate language.

Myself, I'd never heard of the other one using the term. Another fine moment for Wikipedia. Not.

14. Ladino is to Spanish as Yiddish is to German.
I have been told that when people who spoke Yiddish outside Germany arrived in Germany, they made an effort to refrain from using Yiddish and to instead use the German language.

24. Of course not. He's the God-damn Batman!.
Though at one point they did try and make Batman a member of the Sinestro corps, but he said no and apparently Batman can get away with that.
