worlds biggest sperm bank bans redheads from donating
World's biggest sperm bank, Cryos, tells redheads: We don't want your semen

The world's largest sperm bank is telling redheads to keep their semen.

Demand for ginger-haired donors is so low that Cryos International says they needn't bother donating.

"There are too many redheads in relation to demand," Ole Schou, the director of Cryos, told the Danish newspaper, Ekstrabladet, according to London's Telegraph.

1. My daughter got picked up by a modeling agency
for hair modeling. She is a natural strawberry blonde. Since she was child, so many people have commented on her "red" hair color. The first thing the agency asked her was if it was her natural hair color. "You have a beautiful natural hair color". That is what they said. Three weeks after contracting with them she got a modeling job.

What is wrong with being a natural redhead?

7. I think strawberry blond is a beautiful color. I just don't like bright red/orange
hair and tons of freckles.

2. people don't want no red headed sperm child

no, I can't imagine why, I love redheads, though from an evolutionary viewpoint they do get skin cancer easier than most,

4. I don't think it's about whether or not people think red hair is attractive.
Most people want a baby that has some resemblance to them. The vast majority of people are not redheads. Therefore the demand is low. They probably already have enough readheaded sperm in the bank to meet that low demand.

6. My husband has almost black hair

I have mousey brown. Yet we have a strawberry blonde child, besides which, we both have brown eyes, and she is blue eyed. Ah, those RESESSIVE GENES. lol Do the sperm banks go back generations???????

Sometimes with genetics of brown and blonde haired genes, you will get RED. HS gentics courses.

8. I understand about recessive genes
but people go to sperm banks asking for specific things and usually they're hoping for a child that at least looks like it could be the fathers real child (it of course will look like the mother's child unless there's also a donated egg involved).

Now, for single mothers and lesbian couples, the issues are obviously a little different but they're a minority of adopters.

Obviously the gene bank knows what the demands are and adjusts their acceptance rules to meet those demands.

9. You cannot just ask what the FATHER's characteristics are
What were HIS parents traits? If he has brown eyes, but his mother had blue eyes he will still carry the gene for blue eyes. My husband has brown eyes, but his mother had BLUE eyes. I have brown eyes, but my father had BLUE eyes. We had a blue eyed child even though BOTH of us have brown eyes. My husband and I, although both brown haired, have blondes in our family. My husband also has redheads in this family, although his hair is almost black. I cannot tell you how many people have said how can we have a blue eyed, redhead child? It is because they know nothing of our family's GENES. It is not just the PARENTS.

That is the problem with this redheaded thing. They would have to trace the sperm donors family history to know what the odds were of having a redheaded child. It is NOT just how the donor looks. Brown haired people CAN have redheaded children.

10. I understand all of that. You're not telling me anything I don't already know.
But apparently, most of the people who use sperm banks don't know those things. That's not my fault.

5. Just why is it that red-headed men are willing to part with their sperm so easily?
This is the real question.

12. I totally agree
What is wrong with red hair, or black as night????? Your physically characteristic mean nothing. It doesn't define you as a human being.

15. Hey, Cryos...
...go fuck yourselves. Here's hoping that all the sperm in your bank has a recessive gene that makes redheaded babies...and they're all born Scorpios. I hope the parents sue your asses into oblivion.

I'm only mildly joking.

For those of you kind souls here that have said you "love" redheads...that's creepy. Or, maybe it's just the guys that will cross the street to stare into my eyes and breathlessly speak the words, "I just looooooove redheads" with the "Please, take me home and beat me" look in their eyes and the drool forming at the corner of their mouth. If you aren't one of those...thanks a million for sticking up for us. We love ya back. :loveya:
