Why can't President Obama just say this:
Not only is the plan to additionally tax those making over a million dollars a year, not class warfare, but that claim is not only reprehensible, it comes from the very people who really are waging class warfare; who advocate cutting or doing away with Social Security and Medicare. programs that are vital to the middle class, that in many cases keep those people from falling into dire poverty. And the worst of this class warfare is directed at those who live in poverty now, cutting vital programs such as aid for education and job training and Medicaid. If the republicans want to debate class warfare, I'll be glad to do it and let the American people know exactly who is waging class warfare.

or something like that.

1. Because one word (math) is better than your long paragraph!

3. Agree
The Dems have always had a better message than the Repubs but the Repubs have had better slogans and unfortunately the voters understood the slogans but didn't understand the message

10. you begin with this....(look, it's just simple math)...then go into the paragraph
But the paragraph does not matter because the phrase (look, it's just simple math) contains the idea laid out in your paragraph. If the Pres. wants to write a book, then fine. But this is a political death match, not a polite argument.

2. How about: Republicans are liars, if their mouths are moving they are lying...
why, because they only work for the ultra wealthy, they do not care about 99% of Americans who are the ones who actually create wealth through their labor and productivity.

5. I'd rather have him say that he'd veto any bill that didn't include tax increases on the wealthy.

7. he's already said that but I think we need to fight the class warfare meme
being put out there by repubs.

Anyway, that promise of a veto doesn't mean much when the automatic cuts will take place on 12/23.

6. Well said, and let's hope Obama will say something like that. The right-wingers
will surely decline to debate him on that topic, though. They know they wil
come out the big losers.

9. Americans aspire to wealth, so when the GOP spouts that BS
they feel like they're being attacked. Because they're fooling themselves.

I agree with you, it needs to be explicitly, but simply, argued. Don't look to any politician to make the argument - Wealth will make sure you're not elected again - see Alan Grayson.
