How liberal is Liberal, KS?
I might have a job offer there and I'm wondering how well it lives up to its name.

11. well, break a leg then...
but get prepared for culture shock if you've never been anywhere like that before. Are you really from NJ?

I'm not terribly familiar with Liberal, but I've been there plenty of times.

12. Born and raised in Vineland, NJ
but spent four years at college in Western NY (Olean, a very conservative area) and love small towns. I might fit in okay.

4. I can't think of a liberal place within a day's drive
Santa Fe? Denver? Those two places barely tip their states into the blue category. That said, I live in a sea of red with scattered islands of blue. It's not so bad if you don't pay them any attention and concentrate on what is important.

5. A couple of years might not be so bad.
And it might give me a chance to find a job in a better area/market if I don't like living there.

6. You might be surprised.

In Kansas most people just leave you alone as long as you keep the yard mowed, the cows in, and the house painted.

What is your line of work? On edit: I see you are in radio.

7. Broadcasting.
It would be a chance to get back into my preferred field. I haven't worked in radio since my last day in the newsroom at WMGM: September 11, 2001.

9. Believe it or not Oklahoma City is a good place to visit for folks from our community.
It looks like about a 4 hour drive. I have friends there - let me know if you move to Liberal.

13. Are you going to be on the air? That may make the difference. If you
are going to be the KO of Liberty, KS then you might be in trouble. If you are going to be playing music or such it will not matter. I do not know KS but I know conservative areas.
