Christie Said to Be Re-Thinking Presidential Bid
Edited on Mon Sep-19-11 09:23 AM by WI_DEM
To Be or Not to Be...

Despite months of denials, Paul Gigot claimed on Fox News that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) was "thinking about running now, very carefully."

1. Wonder if he would take away the spotlight from Perry as
Perry did w/Bachmann?

Do you know how the Republicans view Christie?

2. The way I heard it thirdhand from NJ republicans was that
Christie was going to wait until the Convention, assuming a majority couldn't be organized to vote for any particular candidate and then Christie "would allow himself to be drafted" on the Floor and get the nomination that way.

9/11 widows, reduced to a demi glace.

24. What a contrast in waistlines!
 Can't imagine him standing with other world leaders on a stage! They'd also have to do major alterations on Air Force One...and the White House! I figured he wanted to wait 4 more years so he could lose weight before running for election. And recuperate from having stomach/fat reduction surgery. He couldn't even get up the stairs on AF1.

But then again, Johnny is the quintessential progressive, a genuine Renaissance Man.

22. re-install the Taft bathtub?
Edited on Mon Sep-19-11 03:22 PM by eagles55
You'll need to install a carwash in back of the White House. That way Christie can take showers. He's not fat!!! You can just watch a Phillies game on his ass.

26. Image is everything in modern politics and the image of this guy is
good...

However, the way he comports himself with the media shows he is savvy and also will connect for those who want a "tough" guy in the White House...

I thought all along that he would be a formidable candidate.

I just thought he would wait until 2016..

33. You absolutely cannot tell that from someone's weight.
Edited on Tue Sep-20-11 12:57 AM by laundry_queen
One of our local politicians was severely obese. He had been my parent's neighbour and friend for years and years. My parents would always say, "Poor K, he's just a heart attack waiting to happen." That was 30 years ago. He's still obese and he's still alive (and heart attack free) and he's living a great life. Same with a few friends of mine, their dad was huge. Still fine. Know who died of a heart attack? The skinny dad of another friend who was just starting his retirement (ETA: the dad was starting his retirement, not his son. Too late for me right now to construct proper sentences). I'd say it has far more to do with heredity and smoking than weight.

Sorry, I hate the POS, but I get tired of hearing his weight is what makes him an awful candidate. It's not his weight (which is NOT a 'moral failing' like some think) but it's his horrible, selfish policies. Pound on those instead.
