Dinner with Barack
If you had the chance to sit down to dinner with Barack - what would you ask him?

1. Why the HECK does he continue to cave-in to a Republican House's
demands? It makes him look weak and unprincipled.

American voters would like him more and be inclined to re-elect him if he sounded more like Bernie Sanders or Alan Grayson.

American voters are not that impressed with a Mr Nice Guy giving in to outrageous Republican House member demands.

5. I doubt you'll be picked as first guest on the dinner list.

Just saying! ;)

I'd ask something tangible about how he can achieve a particular goal he's expressed, pushing him perhaps in new directions. In other words, I'd be constructive rather than combative. No one wants a whiner at the dinner table.

7. You're probably very right! I doubt I'd be asked, but that's what I really
want to know about. I want to know how he thinks!!

I want to know why he hasn't harnessed all that support he had at the beginning of his term to turn down foolish policy gimmicks and tax breaks for the rich and corporations.

I like the man a lot, I think he's among the smartest people in DC, but, so far, he's not acting like the bravest. I hope he acts more boldly on budget issues.

Is that "whining"? I think not!

10. Yeah, I know that! IF I won, I'd be very happy to meet him, even though
I have been somewhat disappointed up until now. Over all, I think he's a wonderful man and COULD be an incredibly great President!

2. Meh, ask all you want...
The screeners will only pick the juiciest questions for him to actually gaze at, then they will be further distilled to the ones that contain good "catch phrases" that he can use on his campaign.

This isn't a plea for questions, this is a plea for free marketing.

Each and every time I respond or write to the president when he wants "to see what we are thinking", I always, first preface any reply or question with, "I know this will be read by a screener first, so if my letter isn't forwarded to the president, please do not send me a form letter reply".

I have yet to receive any response.

Always include that in any correspondence to the white house. You will see rarely if ever any real questions get to him.

3. I always get form letters from the Prez. Sometimes the response is delayed by 4-5 months.

In fact, the only time I have NOT received a form letter from a politician - any politician - was when I e-mailed all of the reps in the GA General Assembly to vote against the copycat SB1070 immigration bill. There was one rep who sent me a personal E-mail that said he "appreciated my concern" but he would vote for the bill.

9. That's good to hear...
just to note, my emails to my reps and the pres. are not rants, well thought out and have no insults.

I have never ever received a reply when I include my qualifier.

maybe I'd stand him up and leave him waiting.

I'm still waiting for him to advance and protect my needs and interests.

6. The whole evening would be an argument over Free Trade

It is the one area where I most fervently disagree with him.
