The quality of manufacturing around the world

Let me pick a well regarded name in automobile manufacture, Honda. Let us say that within the last few years Honda designed a mid-sized car that got quite good fuel economy, was nice looking, was very comfortable, and had many 'extras'. Let's also say that the same car was produced at factories all around the world.

If the same car was made in each of the countries listed below which one would you expect to last for 250,000 miles or normal smooth road use.

2. The assumption is that all things other than place of manufacture are equal.

3. Other: It doesn't matter, all would be of equal company.

If Honda designed it and the lines and equipment and standards and inspections are the same, it doesn't matter what ethnicity, skin color, or nationality are shared by the respective workers- all would come out with cars of identical quality.

Italy makes both shitty and magnificent cars, so does Germany and Japan (I can't speak for India or Canada).

I think the poll will tell us more about perceptions than anything about differences in actual results were such tests conducted.

5. If you drive a GM product....

Some or all of it may already be made in Canada, and has been for decades. That's what the 1965 Canada/US Auto Pact was about.

6. I think my old 1986 Ford F250 HD was assembled in Canada...

Now I drive a Prius, imported, but a friend drives a Hybrid Camry made in, I think, her home state of Kentucky.

Go figure.

One of the main differences between Americans and Canadians is that Americans think there is no difference between Americans and Canadians and Canadians know there is a difference.

Once the United States adopts the metric system, has universal single payer health care, strong banking and corporate regulation, strong unions - including a union of Walmart workers, a minimum wage of $10.00 an hour, and an unemployment rate of 7.3%, then the difference between Americans and Canadians will be somewhat less.
