Taxing the wealthy.
So many of the people coming out against taxing the wealthy are wealthy themselves. I don't understand why there isn't more information about that so that the majority of the voters know that all of this rhetoric is really self-interest. There should be ad after ad on TV showing the declared income of all of them with a website references that encourage the voters to research the information themselves.

Obama Millionaire's Tax: President To Seek New Tax Rate For Wealthy

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama is expected to seek a new base tax rate for the wealthy to ensure that millionaires pay at least at the same percentage as middle income taxpayers.

A White House official said the proposal would be included in the president's proposal for long term deficit reduction that he will announce Monday. The official spoke anonymously because the plan has not been officially announced.

Obama is going to call it the "Buffett Rule" for Warren Buffett, the billionaire investor who has complained that rich people like him pay a smaller share of their income in federal taxes than middle-class taxpayers.

Buffett wrote in a New York Times op-ed piece last month that he and his rich friends "have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress."

It's a good strategy IMHO, because Congress won't act to increase taxes on the wealthy without being forced. Perhaps 'guilting' millionaires into wanting to pay more and pressuring Congress is the way to get it done.

3. I think
Sometimes people just get so locked into their ideas and policies in life, they just can't accept that a new day may have arisen that new policies need to be put in place. I think that is where republicans are these days. They are locked into their ideas with Grover Norquist, not raising taxes, starving the beast, and are unaware that we are on the precipice, a dangerous cliff on which they hold the edge, and are most likely the ones to plummet into the abyss below. See republican congressional approval ratings, even lower than for democrats, or pretty-much DINOs these days.

4. Time is the essence of our lives.
The opening scene of Gone With the Wind showed a sundial with those words inscribed.

Labor is the laborer's time being spent in exchange for a (fair) rate of pay. The rich make most of their money on investments, not their personal labor - time. Tax investments like labor.

Shame on these people who do not want to pay labor a fair rate for their time, which contributes to their profit. And shame on them for not paying their fair share in taxes to maintain our national & local communities. Greedy fucking blood suckers.
