13. Get a clue liberals! This is why they think government schools failed them!
Edited on Sat Sep-17-11 09:26 PM by OffWithTheirHeads
And the schools obviously did. A few hours ago I read a post to the comments section of the Arizona Star. "Are President failed us," or something like that. Well,
maybe they are correct. Just sayin.

43. Are you sure he went to grade school in the US?
I would be surprised if he did. He was trying to sound the names out phonetically. He wasn't very successful.

I just don't believe that a child could go to grade school in this country without learning to spell the names of the presidents. Not possible.

He may have a learning disability. That could be the explanation.

Well, he really embarrassed himself. I feel kind of sorry for that degree of ineptitude although every time I reread one of my posts on DU, I discover missing words, misspelled words -- maybe he was writing too fast. That is my excuse.

But George Washington? Tomas for Thomas looks like an Eastern European spelling. Benjamine -- is that some Italian influence?

Very curious.

48. Good point. But this poor soul kind of put himself out there just as we
do on DU with our horrible grammar and atrocious spellings. And we have even less excuse since we have a Spellcheck.

It's just funny because the sign's message is so arrogant and ignorant. This man obviously knows nothing about the historical context of the time in which Jefferson, Washington and Franklin lived and how utterly liberal their ideas were at the time.

Not only can he not spell simple words, but he is ignorant when it comes to history.

It is, I agree a very sad case. Maybe a learning disability?

8. Double fail.
Spelling and...

The founding fathers tried the t-party's idea of America... it was called the "Articles of Confederation". It failed miserably because the federal government was left unfunded and powerless.

So those ultra-liberals concocted the Constitution of America which greatly increased federal power and gave Congress the right to levy taxes.

Must be famous right-wing extremists that the rest of us weren't taught in our history classes... Maybe they had something to do with burning witches in Salem? Or perhaps, they were turncoats and gave away vital info to the British? I guess we'll never know.

The people who are caught with "moran" signs, normally scurry back into the dark.. They don't like attention when their stupidity is openly on display for everyone on the inter tubes."

Benjamine is the French feminine form of Benjamin.

Tomas is a Swedish, Norwegian, and Lithuanian spelling of Thomas.

I can't explain Washinton.

Could the sign holder be one of those (gasp) European socialist-commie types???

36. Where was this from?
I'd had a notion to be an entrepreneur and go to teabag rallies charging for spell-check services, supplemented by selling overpriced correction supplies (white-out, markers, etc.).

The time for that is probably past, though. These days vendors and media outnumber the attendees.

At least there's no lines for the porta-potties.

42. I wonder what this man's mother tongue was?
Italian immigrant? Mexican immigrant? German?

Or someplace in Eastern Europe?

There is some reason for his chronic misspellings. He may be translating these names from some other language.

That is hilarious -- and embarrassing for this poor fellow.

I can't believe that he is American-born. I just can't believe that he could have gone to an American grade school and not learned how to spell the names of these Founding Fathers, especially the early presidents.
