4. IT started in WI
this is just a continuation.

:hi:

Some other things to add to your list.

Verizon Strike

Grocery store workers strike in SoCAL (to start tomorrow night). This will be the largest strike in modern times if it goes off.

Teachers strikes in Oregon and a few other places

Nursing staff strikes, go on and off all over

And this is all but comprehensive

15. educate themselves. rather than blind angry action, we should stop and think
reformulate the questions, re-examine the basics of how we perceive the situation, break out of the confines of pre-established coordinates of discussion.

the liberal-conservative, democrat-republican arena of discussion limits us.

sometimes every answer to a question is wrong, so we must re-think the question itself.

I agree with the grievances that I hear from people concerning this protest, wall street domination, corporatism, the influence of money in politics, the incredibly skewed wealth distribution, ect. ect. however what I think is really needed right now is pure thought which will carve out a brand new platform for action.

41. So why are you opposed to this then? Because that is exactly
what they are doing. The purpose of today's protest was to hold an Assembly, going on right now, to set the goals the people want and then plan what to do next.

Why don't you contribute some ideas since that is what they are soliciting. Everything has to start somewhere, even the American Revolution started with small gatherings, and this one is a pretty big gathering, for a start.

Why not learn something about what this is about before slamming it? Turns out they are 'thinking' and the more who contribute to the thinking, the better, they decided.

58. You act like the situation we are in is new to the world and we must invent how to react.
It isnt hard to figure out what we need to do because we have only a few options. Most importantly we need a leader organization. We need to combined the hundreds of small efforts into a real movement.

63. "Pure thought"?--go back to graduate school. "Pure thought" has never changed anything.
A lot of "pure thought" goes in to organizing a march and a political position. Anyone who doesn't know that hasn't been "thinking" about this very much. Or at least learning much history a long the way.

We have been carving out a platform for action for decades, newcomer. The problem isn't the lack of ideas, the problem is the mechanism for overturning this system. And, no, it can't be polite. The 22% of kids in my state who are food insecure don't have time for that, thanks.

67. "there is no time to think, we need to act!" this sort of mentality
should more appropriately formulated as "we need to act, so that we don't think". It's only going to ultimately end up serving the current power structure.

If you continue to work within the conceptual framework produced by the system you are trying to change, you will never change it. This means you need to find entirely new ways to think.

68. What, precisely, is a bunch of priviliged people in a yoga circle,
wearing guy fawkes masks in Manhattan going to make people think about? what is being communicated? what is being questioned? what is being challenged?

I'll say again, I don't disagree with the grievances people are bringing to this thing. It just seems a little silly to me.

No to both questions.

The fact that media outlets selected *that* from all the possible bits tells you more about the media than the march.

where to go from here is up for discussion, and that discussion should be as wide as possible, but this should not be a rally for solutions, it should be a rally of Diagnosis.

Capitalism is doing exactly what it does, and is working very, very nicely, thank you.

Please show me where Capitalism has failed for those reaping vast wealth from it.

For those not as fortunate, Capitalism is still working, just nowhere near as well.
