2. Aww hell. Let the invisible hand of the free market sort it out.
When enough people die from eating them, people will stop buying them and the market will self correct! We don't need no nanny state gument regulations.
respectfully submitted,

3. According to FDA they may be labelled "pesticide free". A chilling reminder that
organic produce is not free from contamination.

7. I've had some Rocky Ford cantaloupes, in August. None of us got sick, though--
I wash the outsides of melons with soap and water before I cut into them.

8. I bought one the other day and now I'm throwing it out. Even if it's washed
on the outside, it is porous enough that it get contaminants on the inside. Guess I won't be eating cantaloupe for a little while. too bad, it's may favorite fruit, beside bananas.

9. Wash All Cantaloupes - w/ dish soap & hot water
Cantaloupes are always on the 10 dirtiest food list - It's not the fruit, it's the outside shell - and cutting it with a knife causes the bacteria to enter the fruit. The other fruit on the dirtiest list is Peaches due to the high quantities of pesticides that cling to the fuz.

Rocky Fords are delicious - too bad they're all being destroyed when all it would take is soap/hot water.

10. We sure don't need no Food and Drug Adminsitration in this nation...NO!
We can just let hundreds of people die from food born poisons, before we find out where it comes from.

We would save a lot of money, and have a lot less people around to collect Social Security and Medicare.

The Tea Baggers' dream!
