4. As one who hs been to war and seen--and felt--its horrors intimately, I am antiwar
But one thing I've come to understand is that there are things worth fighting for, and there are things worth dying for. Liberation is one of them.

5. IMO, war definitely is not liberation, but liberty cannot be gained without a battle.
Wars can be fought for liberty or for oppression, they can go either way.

The current battle that most people are fighting to attain liberty is a lack of clean drinking water, rampant disease, climate change. Disease, for example, kills one WWII worth of people every 5 years.

6. War CAN mean liberation for those who are oppressed
The current "battles" you list (perhaps "challenges" would be a better word) are not examples of state oppression, but they all are things that can lead, rightly or wrongly, to war.

International intervention (a term much-denigrated at the moment) is a way to to meet these challenges and--hopefully--to prevent unnecessary war.

Love & Peace,
pinboy3niner
