Thread to express solidarity with those who will be occupying Wall Street tomorrow
Edited on Fri Sep-16-11 04:44 PM by Ken Burch
Some will be there physically. Others can only be there in spirit. What will happen tomorrow will help decide whether this country will ever be a TRUE democracy...politically, economically, socially, creatively, and spiritually.

Offer your words, hopes, and dreams if you're unable to get to the Street yourself(I'll be on a ferry boat headed back to Alaska).

Poetry would be good, as well.

The politicians aren't on our side...so it's up to us.

2. Maybe this will be interesting?
At least, something might happen.

I'm looking forward to the occupations of financial sectors. Wish I could be there.

SOLIDARITY!

9. Thanks!
I hope they have legal observers standing by. I don't see anything on the NYCLU, NLG or CCR websites.

I hope it makes a difference. Seems politicians don't care much for protesters.

16. The real power is with the people if we band together and use it, I hope your feeling is wrong, but
in this increasingly ugly and divided America, it seems as though almost anything is possible........even the unthinkable sadly.

17. Have a good feeling!
The fear is great on the top of the Ponzi scheme, and out of fear they do what they do.

But the truth shall set us free.

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. but it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

We are the ones we have been waiting for.

19. From Finnegans Wake by James Joyce:

The fall (bababadalgharaghtakamminarronnkonnbronntonnerronntuonnthunntrovarrhounawnskawntoohoohoordenenthurnuk!) of a once wallstrait oldparr is retaled early in bed and later on life down through all christian minstrelsy. The great fall of the offwall entailed at such short notice the pftjschute of Finnegan, erse solid man, that the humptyhillhead of humself prumptly sends an unquiring one well to the west in quest of his tumptytumtoes: and their upturnpikepointandplace is at the knock out in the park where oranges have been laid to rust upon the green since devlinsfirst loved livvy.

Godpseed. Wall St doesn't mind when you kill people, the environment or the country but mess with the golden calf and you might get the horns.

I hope the turn out is huge. More things along these lines need to be done.

Indeed, politicians aren't going to "save" us, many are part of the corruption and decay.

"Invictus", remains one of my favorites.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
