28. Actually, "Producers" are the working class and "Looters" are Wall Street and Corporate cronies.
The big definition in Ayn Rand's writings is the description of "Producers" versus "Looters".

The problem is that she got it backwards.

The "Producers" are the workers. The "Looters" are the financiers and crony capitalists.

For example, the Bush boys who live off of taxpayer revenues rather than "producing" something:

Jeb now is setting up a "privatized emergency services" company that would be paid by taxpayer dollars.

Neil has been touting his on-line education software that is paid by taxpayer dollars.

etc., etc.

2. Good - now he won't be sucking up Social Security and Medicaid like all the RepubliBaggers
Edited on Fri Sep-16-11 05:45 AM by SpiralHawk
As everyone knows and as irrefutably documented in the anals of science, late in life Galt greedily grabbed for and 'sponged off' of America's social safety net.

Of course, Galt hid this from everyone around him. You could say he went occult on the truth.

The same way Galt's author Ayn Rand did. Even if ungrateful for the help our social programs gave her, she was -- in the end -- profoundly needful of America and Americans and their caring hearts and taxes. So it goes.

Hypocrisy is a core RepubliBagger Family Value.

Ask Sarah Palin, who is not dead.

3. And the other "job creators"
don't actually create jobs anymore.

I hope that at some point the notion of "business leaders" blaming personal leadershp failures, poor business decisions, and an unwillingness to actually venture when returns are not assured stops being falsely blamed on government. Government has always been there, taxes have always been charged, and the real Business Leaders of the past figured out how to be successful anyway. Too bad there aren't many of them around these days.

6. What I've noticed about "job creators" is
they won't create jobs unless they get some kind of tax break or government funding. You know, they same thing they would decry as Socialism if it was directed toward needy persons.

but don't create the jobs.

4. Yeah, right. You wish. They are never going to "go Galt". They are holding us hostage
to their ideology. But without limits on wealth accumulation, it was always going to be that way.

7. I tell my right-wing associates regularly that if Atlas ever does shrug,
the gates of their new Utopia will be closed to the likes of them. They seem to think they're part of the elite, when the elite wouldn't even consider them for doormats or toilet paper.

Personally, I can't wait until they all move to that floating island they are envisioning.

9. On a billboard on I-95 going through South Carolina: Who is John Galt?
I'd love to know who the jackass was who paid good bucks to put up such an asinine sign.

There's definitely a Atlas Shrugged fan club out there. They deserve their own little world unto themselves.

11. At this point is wouldn't make a difference if Atlas shrugged
All the jobs are outsourced, production if offshored, and the company headquarters is a PO box in the Caymans. I'm just waiting for these assholes to leave so I can enjoy my unemployment in peace.

I kind of feel sorry for the woman it's clear how damaged she was. That republicans hold this woman up as an idol is crazy.

21. John Galt is a poorly constructed fictional character
flat, unrealistic, cardboard. The lack of dynamic in the Galt character alone is enough to sink the entire book.

25. John Galt Is an ENTREPRENOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRR!
Just like every tech blogger, marketing guru and start-up freak who lists Ayn Rand in their influential persons list on Facebook,

while having shit-fits over artists who want royalties for use of their work,

and trying to crowd-source any job where they can get some rube to volunteer for what would have been a paying job even 18 months ago.

31. Damn it! I wish they would all go Galt. I mean think about it for moment:
Atlas Shrugged makes no sense. The "producers" all decide to leave society and not take their property with them, thus giving up the class war. It would really make the job of socialists a hell of lot easier if the capitalist class would just surrender and give up the class war, so please "go Galt.'
