George Clooney is better than us
George Clooney is better than us, he is
a better and bigger man than all of us
put together, and he has let us know
this in an interview he did at the Toronto
film festival.

Oh by us, I mean all of us, not blogger's or
reporters, I mean everybody.

You see this reporter by the name of Paul Chi,
asked this innocent question, about how he
balances his personal and professional life in
the spotlight. Fair enough question I thought.

Not fair enough for George Clooney who went
on and tried to embarrass him.

Clooney laughed and sneered and said "I knew
someone would ask that question" he went on to
ask this guy's name, Paul Chi told him, but Clooney
kept on asking about half a dozen times.

He then added, everybody remember the name Paul Chi,
he asks the questions that has to be asked. He also told
Paul that he should tell his editor that he asked the question.

To his credit Mr Chi remain professional, unlike
Mr Clooney who afterwards went on to tell
the media, he likes it when people ask him dumb
questions, because it makes him laugh.

What got me, was how the rest of the press core
just sat there laughing, and clapping like trained
circus seals.

I found it to be bullying behavior on a high school
level, where the cool kid, berates the nerd kid and
the whole class laughs at the Nerd, while the cool
kid sits there superior.

If I was at the press conference, I would of asked
George, "Why do you have to be a jerk?"

Lets hope one day people don't tolerate bullies
anymore.

Hats off to Paul Chi for keeping his dignity.

1. Clooney, to my knowledge does not have a bad rep...
In fact, most of what I've read and seen in terms of what is said of him--is really positive. We all have bad days. Heaven knows I do and I don't have people following me around day in and day out looking for something negative to report to the world. We all have days when our attempts to joke fall flat. I'll believe Clooney to be a "bully" when I see a pattern of behavior. My guess is that he's probably already apologized to Mr. Chi.

18. Thanks for the link, but, he sounds more light-hearted than snarky and I didn't hear him say
the rest of the stuff you used, like the "interviewer gets smaller as the interview goes on".

In addition, he responded respectfully to the second question asked, which sounded like it

came from the same reporter.

5. I wouldn't call someone who sticks up for himself a bully...
Edited on Thu Sep-15-11 06:41 PM by JuniperLea
Instead of asking intelligent questions of an intelligent and successful actor, reporters ask personal questions that need not be asked. Clooney gets slammed by the same bullshit all the time. Yes, he goes through relationships like I go through joke-a-day calendars, but is that something Clooney is obliged to share? No. Why not ask how it is he picks winning scripts? Why not ask how it was to grow up in a "Hollywood" family? Why not ask how it was to study theater whilst in said Hollywood family? Why not ask actual film related questions at a film festival? Quite frankly I don't give a flying rats ass how he balances his checkbook let alone his personal life. That's why they call it a personal life... it's personal.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if the level of interview questions drops to Teen Beat circa 1965... What's your favorite color? Do you like blonds or brunets? Do you sleep on your side or your back?

I applaud anyone in the business who keeps their personal life personal.

10. I just got a highschool feeling
The question wasnt that bad, but Clooney went on and on with it, and the way the other members of the
press core kept laughing, reminded me of high school, when the cool kid might call out the nerd,
everybody laughs and laughs, and the cool kids keeps going on with it, thats what I took from it.

I just dont think there was no need for it does Clooney know this guys background? What type of
reporter he is?

Im guessing like high school, 95% of people will support Clooney.

Show me a pattern of bad or inappropriate/disrespectful behavior and I might be convinced. Given Clooney has not earned that--throughout a very long career history, tells me that will be very unlikely for you to do.

22. I'm guessing, like DU...
Most people will support the intelligent reporter, not the dumbass who screws up a major opportunity to interview a massive Hollywood star by asking stupid personal questions.

There's no need for stooping to that stupid when you have an intelligent actor to interview... ridiculous. But go ahead a broad brush smear anyone here who doesn't agree with you.

does Clooney know this guys background? Why does he need to know? Does this guy know Clooney's? Well any reporter worth his/her salt damn well should! Well enough at least to ask an intelligent question! Why not just ask Clooney what his favorite color is?

Really stupid. I'm sorry... this reporter is dumb as a box of hammers.

I interviewed hard ass metal and punk bands/singers/songwriters for nearly 10 years... and even when I was a novice, I was smart enough to avoid this stupidity! I can't imagine Rob Halford's response if I'd asked this of him! Doh!

Or, hey, Lemmy... how do you keep all the groupies straight and a secret from your wife... doh!

This reporter is a raging dumbfuck.

the REAL question that the reporter asked was this"

"Which is harder, directing, or dating in the spotlight"

It's a juvenile question, which you completely misrepresented. There was no need to edit the question, other than to shine it up so as to sound more professional, which helped support your point.

Why? With everything going on in the world right now, why did you have to fabricate a story about a celebrity that acted like an ass? There wasn't a legitimate example you could find?

It's 7:48 pm by my clock..

I'll be right back....

Here's a story about Serena Williams acting like an ass to a court judge, and a sports announcer calling her out on the air.

Also, let's hear what "celebrity sites" you were on. If he's such a bad guy, let's hear all about it.

George Clooney was trying to call attention to those in this world who get very little long before his efforts in Somalia. He and his dad took a camera crew to Darfur, for instance. Everyone is human, but for a guy who seems to use his money and fame to highlight some of the wrongs in our world, his alleged misdeeds don't seem quite as heinous as, oh, Charlie Sheen's or Tom Cruise's.

56. Paul Chi Is An Asshole
If a journalist agrees not to ask about certain subject, as a condition for access to a celeb, and they blow off that agreement, they are assholes.

Celebrities have to be nice to everyone or face awful PR - ask Lindsey Lohan about that. Unfortunately, some people are assholes who do not recognize personal boundaries, and having to put up with them gets very stressful.

Smart celebs will find a way to call someone an asshole, without calling them an asshole. That's what Clooney did.

58. I'd say we're quite similar, since I like laughing at dumb posts.
Why the hard-on for George Clooney?

59. ...
Curious about his interest
I babbled my way through the worldwide list
Ireland, Chile and the African states
Poetry, politics and how they relate
Motherhood, music and Moog synthesizers
Political prisoners and Commie sympathizers
Hetero, homo and bisexuality
Where they all stand in the nineteen-seventies
Then suddenly it stopped and he started to lobby
Said, Tell me some inside stuff about Bobby
Bobby who? I smiled and said
And the TIME man's face was laced with red
I know you guys used to know each other
I know you refer to him as being your brother
And I know that you know where he's coming from
I said, You know alot for being so Goddamned dumb

And I said, TIME, TIME mag, mag
You got me on the rag, rag
Take your insults about the queen
And shove them up your royal Timese machine...

60. George Clooney bought this island castle for his girlfriend in Lake Como, Italy.

He also has a satellite used to expose and monitor the genocide in the Sudan. No shit.

In short, George Clooney IS the goddamn Batman.

65. Most celebrities are repellent on all levels of basic things...
As they tweet their only two topics.

What I am enduring in a world of people beneath me.

Look what fabulous things I am doing/am.

George is such a creature.
