CA: HEMP Farming Bill One Pen Stroke AWAY!
http://www.patientsforfulllegalization.org/news/2011/9/14/legal-ca-hemp-farming-a-pen-stroke-away-from-reality.html

So call and help out.

all CA Gov. Brown @ 916 445-2841 & request he sign SB 676 for legal Industrial Hemp Farming!

In a turn of incredible good news both for cannabis liberation and the economy, Senate Bill 676 known as the California Industrial Hemp Farming Act has been approved by the full California legislature and has landed on Governor Jerry Brown's desk for either signature into law, or veto into oblivion. Hemp which is perhaps the world's most diverse industrial crop for fiber making to bio fuel is also an incredible food source and health supplement. The idea that hemp is currently illegal on the State and Federal level is mind boogling considering it was the most prized crop of societies ranging from ancient times including the United States before our founding all the way to WW2! In addition, it is currently legal in the U.S. to import hemp products Internationally from the 30 other countries around the world whom grow it legally, and it is legal to buy, sell, consume and manufacture that imported hemp (I have a hemp milk and hemp protein power shake every morning for breakfast w/ a half a table spoon of hemp oil). ALL LEGAL, AND SUPREMELY HEALTHY!

The idea that hemp is illegal is truly as insane as the worst public policies in place today,

1. I can't wait until the economic figures start rolling in next harvest.
This could easily be the catalyst for national hemp (cannabis) legalization when states realize how much tax revenue they are losing.

4. Agreed. Nothing will kill prohibtion faster than the sight of money.
A K&R for the versatile hemp and the good it will bring. It is utterly absurd that this crop cannot be lawfully produced here, and is instead imported, when it could be a major domestic industry.

3. Brown has over 600 Bills on his desk.
and he's had the Veto pen out. He was AGAINST Prop. 19 so we'll see if he does the right thing or if he plays the good little Democratic Party Boy and vetoes it.

7. If he vetoes this,
he ain't no friend of mine. I had hopes for him. I lived in CA when he was Governor the first time.

Hemp will create jobs. But it could be a competitor to the Oil Boyz and other Big Lobbies....that would be why he'd vetoed it.

I hate Big Corporations.

As an aside, I wrote the previous Governor of Ohio (Strickland) a letter asking him to consider legalizing hemp....considering Ohio has lost so many jobs...and I didn't even get a form letter back from him.

Alas....Ohio, the new Dumfukistan.

9. No, but import of hemp is rising
and we cannot as citizens of the US Grow it for any purpose. Think of all the jobs. Think of the shuttered mills that onece prodcued fibers from trees converted into Hemp plants making the same, BUT MUCH BETTER, products.

8. I doubt he'll sign this
He was against Prop 19, and if the cotton industry and oil industries get to him he will never sign this.
