"If you've been following the news lately, you already know what the super committee and the jobs
bill fights are going to come down to: Getting the big corporations and wealthy Americans to pay their fair share.

Sadly we can't always count on the White House and congressional Democrats to stand strong and fight.

But Progressives United will stand strong and fight.

That's why I started this group, and that's why you became a Founding Member. That's what we've done all year, and that's what we want to keep doing all fall.

But we only have a few more hours to meet our fall organizing budget goal of $50,000 (by midnight tonight), and we still need to raise $19,788 to reach it.

Will you help us reach our goal by midnight tonight by contributing $25 or more now?

We've established a great track record with Progressives United already: When we target legislators and decision makers, they take notice.

We can do it in the upcoming fights this fall, too, but we need to out-hustle, out-maneuver, and out-organize our opponents to do it -- and that requires more financial resources, which we'll put to work starting as soon as tomorrow.

That's why I'm asking for your support today.

Thanks for uniting as a progressive,

Russ Feingold
Founder
Progressives United"

It seems sad to know the people who need us to fight the most for have no money to support this cause... Thanks...

With all the self congratulatory high fives going on because Obama said he wont pursue SS cuts in his jobs bill it seems many are forgetting that the super committee is the place SS is in danger, not the jobs bill.

Thats why DC forms these sham committees in the first place, to keep responsibility for betrayals of the public at arms length, with no one in high positions held responsible.

3. Exactly. The Jobs Bill keeps its hands off SS
but if we don't come up with the proper cuts by Thanksgiving, it's open season on SS, according to the agreement that created that committee.
