Poll question: DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Shultz
Chair of the Democratic National Committee

On April 5, 2011, Vice President Joe Biden announced that she was President Barack Obama's choice to succeed Tim Kaine as the 52nd Chairman of the Democratic National Committee. Once confirmed by the Democratic National Committee, she became the third female DNC chief in history and the first in over 15 years. Until she assumed office, current DNC Vice-Chair Donna Brazile served as the interim Chair of the Democratic National Committee. Wasserman Shultz was confirmed at the meeting of the DNC held on May 4, 2011, in Washington, DC.

We're coming up on the first 6 months since she was announced as Chair. What is your interim grade? (and, if you care to share, why?)

1. OK-- why does she get the "F" and why the unrecs? Or, can we just assume...
it's some asswipes with nothing better to do this time of night?

6. Unrecs don't bother me. Never have - never will.
Thanks for asking, though!

Maybe I should have asked "Is she doing a better or worse job than Tim Kaine?"

4. I went for B
She does a fair job, keeps to the party line but sometimes misses on takedown points when arguing against a RW tool and sometimes misses on the facts.

5. I gave her an "F"
because she stridently hung (OK poor choice of words) Anthony Weiner out to dry...

7. She didn't help - but Weiner hung himself - and our Party - out to dry.
Politicians on both sides of the aisle never seem to learn certain lessons.

14. You forget that 70% of the voters in that district...
wanted Weiner to stay, which is the reason why the Democrats in that district sat home yesterday and the Republican won. Democrats pushed Weiner to resign against the will of the voters in the district, while David Vitter sits unchallenged in the Senate for doing far worse and John Ensign almost escaped unscathed for two years until the ethics committee got him.

16. Weiner hung himself by lying, lying and then lying some MORE
...to anybody who would listen. Blaming Debbie for Weiner's lies is ridiculous.

That said, I rate her a solid "meh" in her current capacity - i.e. a C. Not the worst person for the job, but not the firebrand I was hoping for, either.

10. I had really hoped that President Obama would bring him in as COS
Dean could have done a lot to sharpen the agenda.

11. C - she says it like it is, whether we like what she's saying or
not. She calls the Reps out and I like that, and is hip to their tricks. She's a little too moderate for my taste and she went after Weiner like a Republican might have. But again, she called it like she saw it and I just really appreciate that in a politician.

19. ..so why don't we bring back Howard Dean?
..it's kind of like "why don't we go back to the same tax rates we had the last time the budget was balanced?" Go back to what worked.

15. Zero support for state parties
In 2008 we had VoteBuilder techies at the state level supported by DNC. We needed both of ours, and for next year we only have one. WTF are they thinking?

Very little basic values messaging.

I know she hasn't said much about the ALEC anti-voter laws that have passed in my state and others.

18. D I miss Howard Dean
She's a better speaker than Tim Kaine but has not instilled the winning spirit the Democrats need.
